Udon thani stag do

Hello All

i will be getting married in Udorn in november
and will be having a stag do in Bangkok
whats left of my friends will be in udorn for the wedding and another stag do will be planned (being greedy here)

so what do i know about udorn thani nightlife

i found Mr tongs a good place to drink

and the yellow bird club a good place to see live music

so im looking for sudgestions on places to go for a night of pub crawlling drinking with a group of people never likley to caome to udorn again

Start on the right hand side of the Cow Shed ( Day n Night ) and adopt the 1 beer 1, 1 bar approach. after that, call in to The Office , Up to Nutty park, same deal, then onto Tongs at 0100 and then kick onto Brother Pub till 0300 and if ur really up for it, over to Aungsa till 0400.

Then down to the dusty Sois for a late night , early morning beer and giggle

One more off the list as The last time ( Saturday) I looked at the brothers pub it was being dismantled or rather the fittings and furniture was being loaded onto a truck.

Thanks for that update, sadly this place just cant get off the ground with the younger set, as their mixers are 15 baht more per bottle .

they compete with UPOP, UD Pub etc and Udon can only support 3 Thai Clubs like this, and has been for the last 8 years....

Im sure some punter from BKK will buy it up soon and open it again, wonder where they get the money and cash flow for all this, ........or do they just want some sort of cash flow ??????

It's a shame about Brothers if they are closing, maybe they are doing a refit.

was that the sad looking grouip of bars within walking distance of Mr tongs which basically had only one customer per bar i.e the white guy who owned the bar !!!!!

not the small soi which is on the same road as mr tongs going back towards central shopping plazza ?

You have got it right. and the small soi is called nutty Park. theres a great little bar on the corner called up2u, great for watching the world go by as its a good vantage point. no loud music and no girls hassling for drinks.

yep now i remeber the name nutty park another very quite place

when i wanderd through the cowshed ( very apropriate name) half the bars were closed and some had for sale signs up

the irish clock looked like a standard kit pub and the only place with any life in it was mr tongs

i noticed some small thai styple bar/resturants in the night market

any other recomendations would be apreciated

Above post maybe not that clear: Day and Night (aka cowshed) is next to Top Mansion. from there you can walk down Soi Sampanit (a few bars, like orange Moon or is it Patricks now?) then turn left at bottom on main road towards night market/railway station for Tongs and Nutty Park. Doubt if many will get much further!

The road where Nutty Park and Mr Tong's are located is Prajak Road, the Office is worth a try, A/C cheap beer, food and clean toilets. On the other side of the road from Tong's.

i only spent a few days in udorn and had over evening comitments

what i rember was turning right outside the centara walking about 150m turning left past nutty park then mr tongs
going over to the night market coming back rowards mr tongs going down a side road past the irish clock at some point then walking down this row of bars in a covered area which was what i thought you guys called the cowshed ?

also turned left one night and ended up in the big thai country club to watch the world cup one night also

so is there a seperate bar called the cowshed ?

Cowshed is not a single bar.
It is Udon Day/Night bar complex. Looks like a cowshed, hence the name

Hi All,
I'm in a similar position to Bob here. Have a crowd staying at the Centara who are not use to going home at 2am like good little boys. What is the usually weekend closing time at Day/night and the place that was mentioned opened tilll 4am what is that like ie, street stall/ lean to. I'm assuming they are all in easy crawling distance from the Centara? Any more advice would be appreciated, so the night hawkes have some options!

Brothers one late option is now a shell, and is being rebuilt, the new venue will be much bigger.

I think Aungsa is in the Ban Chaing Hotel.
