I've already given Pete this answer to his question, above on this merged thread, and he's acknowledged that he'll follow up the suggestions:-
arjay wrote:Their booking conditions should alert to that situation, - the need to present your visa card when checking in.

I accidentally made the same mistake with Nok Air quite recently, - booking a flight for my wife who would be travelling on her own and paying with my credit card over the Internet. I rang them and asked their advice. They asked me to fax a copy of my credit card to them in Bangkok and told me they would pass a copy to Udon airport. All went well, - no problems. :D

Another option might be for your GF to go into a Thai Air office in Bangkok and offer to pay cash, in return for them re-crediting your credit card.

I'd try the first idea first.

Instead book any other airline that exists in the 21st century of doing business.

A message of advice brought to you from me.

Very confused by your comments,at the payment information page,of course mentions the fact that the credit card holder needs to be present upon checkin so it warns you prior to you putting your credit card info on the screen for approval.
And also on the same page a link http://www.thaiair.com/booking/non_pax_traveler.html to solve the times when the cardholder is not present.

Pompui, I have booked maybe, mmm 60 or so airfares online in the last 5 years, and have purchased I don't know how many items online, and downloaded too many pieces of software to remember. Fair enough, the T+ C may be there, but who reads all the terms and conditions say every time they download a Microsoft update?

In 5 years and 60 odd flights, maybe more, I have never come across this condition. As it is not usual, an online warning before payment would have been in order, or maybe it's just me.

Pete, if you've booked so many flights in the past, I would think you would be familiar with that condition. I know from personal experience it exists on Thai Air, Nok Air, Singapore Airlines, and EVA Air websites, and probably most others including Air Asia.

It isn't on a separate screen of Terms & Conditions. It comes up as part of and within the actual booking credit card details screen. ;) :-"

Yes, you got me, I am a ****, no excuses, they still aren't getting my money unless they wise up.
Question, how does one book an internet fare other than by credit card? Don't mention paypal etc. That should be a condition of booking, not at screen 6.

It doesn't exist on Tiger, Jetstar, Qantas, BMI, Cathay Pacific.

I've been booking Thai Air over the past 5 years and have seen the warning for as long as I can remember. Only time I haven't had to show my CC on check-in is if I book through a travel site rather than the Airline's site.

Hi,
Just been to Udon Airport today. Thai airlines to BKK 2430B this includes baggage etc. AA.basic price, Plus 250B for hot seat or 50B for standard seat! Baggage fees, I have 22Ks. equals 428B not so cheap, as first thought, and if times are no good for you even dearer.
Excess baggage 86B per kilo.Change flight 696B per person, change name 696B per person. All this plus the times of travel, I will stay with Thai and have a stress free life. Would scan all the details to you but scanner U/S.
As for pet saying how do they know you were not there at the a/p at that time. ie 3 hours before your flight. I give up teaching youngsters years ago and will not answer that simple question. Computers make life so easy.
Jack you asked about flights with A.A. from Udon to BKK. in September. Checked and there are only two per day in September. FD3361 To BKK leaving 0845Hrs., and FD3365 to BKK leaving Udon 1740Hrs. These are the the only A.A. flights per day for Sept.
Cheers Doug.

Doug, you are in the air for an hour, why pay for a seat upgrade and a name change? Why pay excess baggage? I never exceed 15Kg, I use a laundry, and my carry on baggage. AA is still half Thai's price and one can book for a third person without jumping through hoops.

Pet.
PLEASE read my posts. I never said I would pay for a seat upgrade. I am not travelling by A.A. as i have said before and just went to the airport to get the CORRECT information for people. I am travelling onward to U.K., A.A. does not have a flight going at the time I want. Do not want to spend 12 hours at swampy.
If you travel by A.A to BKK and have up to 15K of luggage you will be charged 214B for this on top off the flight cost. One way. Sorry if I offend you by carrying 22K of luggage, I'll slap my wrist. The full charge quoted by A.A. yesterday, for baggage, was up to 15K 214B. Up to 20K 321B' Up to 25k. 428B. Up to 35K 535B. These prices are only for Domestic flights. They are also pre-booked rates and are 50% cheaper than check in baggage fees. So A.A. say. CHECK IN baggage fees are, up to 15K 321B and over 15 Kilos EXCESS baggage at 86B per Kilo will be charged, no weight limit
The cost to PICK a seat is 250B for a hot seat one way and 50B for a standard seat one way. you do not have to pick a seat. They do not force you to.
I tried to post the whole article which I got from A.A. but my printer has gone u/s.
I put in change flight details etc. in case someone was interested in this, their is not just you on the board. Believe it or not they even charge 129B for carrying your wheel chair one way, if you use one. The price for A.A. is a lot more than half the price for Thai. airlines. When I checked yesterday. Suggest you get to the a/p and check with airlines if you do not believe my figures. My figures were for Sept. 2010 airfares and not last month or last year.
Must say the girls were very helpful at all three airline desks I went to. And I wish to thank them.
Cheers Doug.

Doug

Please read my posts. I do not sit here in Australia and just surf the net, I actually fly to Udon Thani, from where I just returned at the beginning of this month.

You will see from my attachments that I paid a total of 3339.50 RETURN, or 1679.50 single. I have just booked my GF on a Thai Airways flight leaving this Friday, cost= 2235 SINGLE.By my reckoning that's 555 B dearer than my AA flight.

Right, I sorted out my Thai Airways and credit card problem. I scanned in my passport and CC and filled in the form and emailed them all to the Brisbane office, which issued a new ticket which states cc verified on it.

Hopefully she will have no trouble at the airport now.
