Udon Thani to Bangkok Thai Airways

Postby lee » August 6, 2010, 10:56 am

I tried booking a flight from Udon Thani to Bangkok via the Thai Air website, however each time I reached the end of the booking form it returned an error. I then tried calling one of the ticket offices, however the phone was either engaged or the office was closed. Also there is no ticket office listed for Udon Thani, Khon Kaen is listed though!

So I decided to call At Here travel to make the reservation. I'm pleased I did, not only was the reservation easy, they were almost 300 baht (per person) cheaper than the Thai Airways website. :?

There is a Thai Airways ticket counter at the airport in Udon. I have picked up tickets many times there. Cheaper than their online prices or from a travel agent.

Very close to Mr. Tongs....Limited English so probably better if you take a translator - although it is possible to "muddle through" with them!!

When I returned on 1st. I had bought the ticket online from UK, cost 2,675 all in....

I was told about the @here agency. Looked for it many many times with no success. Finally found it. Right next door to Mr. Tongs sandwiched in between Mr. Tongs and a massage parlor. Easy to miss if you don't know exactly where it is.

Were they quoting like for like on ticket type?

There are currently six different economy ticket types/fares available on Thai with varying degrees of flexibility (regarding usage and/or refunds), they are:

    1. Hot Deal
    2. Saver
    3. Saver Plus
    4. Flex Saver
    5. Flex Saver Plus
    6. Full Flex
When I checked today on the Thai website, the cost varied by 1,880 THB on a one way ticket between the cheapest (Hot Deal) and most expensive (Full Flex).

What's wrong with Air Asia? You're only in the air for an hour.

My experiences with Air Asia are that they are frequently late especially the evening flights and not just on the UTH - BKK route.

If your not in a hurry then save yourself a few baht and fly Air Asia but if you have to get a connecting flight or have to make it to an appointment pay the extra and fly thai

I have had no such experiences, and I have flown UTH-BKK, Sing-Bkk, UTH-PHK, total of 10 flights since March, can't fault them. Any operation can run late. Australia's Jet Star, which is cheap Qantas, but the only way for me to leave the country, has never been on time for me!
