Udon Travel Agents Providing Visa Service?

Postby jingjai » April 12, 2011, 1:50 pm

Are there any Travel Agents in Udon providing visa services to other Asian Countries?

I want to visit China, but I don't want to have to spend two days in Bangkok applying for and waiting for the visa the to be issued.

When I visited Vietnam a number years back, my travel agent in Jomtien, arranged for the visa.
All I had to do was visit her office, fill out the visa application, leave my passport and photos with her, and pay the visa fee plus a small service charge. Four days later, had my Vietnam visa. :D

Am hoping to accomplish something similar here in Udon for my China visa.

Thanks js. Yes, I thought about Vientiane. But, by the time I end up paying for a re-entry permit, plus the Lao visa, plus a couple nights stay in Lao... I might as well just go to Bangkok, get the visa, and fly out to China from Bangkok.

Unless, of course, there are direct flights from Vientiane to Shanghai? I'm unable to find that info on the internet.

There aren't any direct flights that I know of, but there is a connecting through Kunming, China.
Check out http://www.skyscanner.net for your best options. [-o<
BTW, flying out of Laos is going to be more expensive than from Bangkok.

I will be making a similar journey in the coming weeks. I will have a chinese visa and my final destination will be Kunming. I was wondering has anybody made this trip before? Is the China Eastern airline up to western standards? What is kunming like for a westerner who does not speak the language like for getting around?

Cheers and appreciate any info.

China Eastern is a good airline. The times I visited Kunming were on business and I traveled with my Chinese rep. He acted as interpreter. As I remember, the level of English comprehension is about the same as here in Issan.

Thanks Veteran I will also be on business so will have to negotiate a translator. I will be making a 150km journey out into the sticks so should have a very interesting trip. If you have any info on decent hotels, restaurants bars it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
