Good point. Perhaps the person who posted about it has some interest in an indirect way. Again, who knows, and who cares?!? But, since trubrit did take the time and effort to pass along his thoughts, it might be interpreted as courteous to provide him with a response/reaction no matter how insignificant the issue.

While not necessarily underage, here's another twist to the topic of prostitution in general which is happening now in my little village. There has been a rash (4 cases so far) of an 'English' man (all Farang in the village are called 'Englishmen') of bringing his friends over to meet some ladies. He is not from England! The parents of these ladies have had these gentlemen living in their houses with their daughters receiving monies as result. Two of these girls have bar working experience, one is student and 21 years old and one works in factory. Additionally, mother in law of the resident 'Englishman' charges the families for the hook ups. Seems dear ole Mom and Pop will prostitute out their daughters for the 'better' life as they would say!

Very sad but some people will do just about anything for money. In the west I see people doing things for money that is hard to believe as well, although pimping out your daughters is not usually one of them.

While not necessarily illegal or in some cases immoral, it is sad that even the ADULTS ( I use that word loosely
here ) are aiding and abetting the obvious avarice and the attitude of the family as a whole. says a lot about Thai mindset I think

Reading this makes me think of the local expat-run establishment that ran a Love Seminar: "Get to meet up with many genuine local Thai ladies from the Udon Thani area. Join in games and activities and have good time with them. Share your feelings, ladies feelings and learn more about culture and communication problems. Charge: 199Baht."
If a woman met a man at such a seminar and decided that there was enough spark there to go home with him, I wouldn't consider that prostituting.

Does anyone know what's actually happening behind the front door of this home......or is it village rumor? I'd be more concerned if there were underage girls engaged in the action, but in this case, it appears to be adult women.

While I agree with Parrots observations and yes if they are over the magic age of 18 it is fine , legally. It is the fact that mom and Pop are aiding and abetting the procurement of 'Men ' for use by daughters as a money making exercise. The fact that the parents condone such actions and are obviously gaining benefits from these affairs. Then in my mind and unless the law here is completely different, anyone who gains pecuniary advantage from another by the use of females engaging in sexual favours is either a pimp or a prostitute . So the parents are the pimps and the girls are the prostitutes, these i take it are not long term affairs just visitors enjoying the favours for monies and the MOM and POP who arrange this are what may one ask, casual onlookers or active in the procurement .
A mute point but one I would steer well clear of and I doubt that the girls undergo the mandatory testing to ensure they do not have illnesses...................

Well, as I enjoy my retirement, I sit and watch this going on all day. It’s like a racetrack with mothers from both parties moving their daughters and old men around. I’m old as well, so no attack here on us senior citizens. Reasons cited by the mothers is they want their daughters to have the good life just like my wife and the wife of the guy sponsoring this. Good grief! I’m not sure that we ‘rich Englishmen’ necessarily bring the good life home if these are some of the results.
One of the ‘gentlemen’ who had spent the last 20 days at the house of one of the girls, left and has now moved in with another family. Reason sited was that the girls’ mother wanted too much money. According to the girl, the guy gave her NO money for her ‘time’ and only helped pay for food. Spent around 8k baht for three weeks of room and board plus the heartfelt fringe benefits. This particular family lives right across the road and we watch the negotiations. Like I said, there is an exchange of monies so negotiations are lively. Reminds me of an Amway sales meeting.
A parting shot and I think enough has been said. If I were a Thai dude living out here in the village, and I saw a lot of the ‘available’ women being scooped up by so called rich and definitely older ‘Englishmen’ I might champion an Exorcism of all Farang. Right off hand, I can think of several ‘religious’ groups back home where I am from who would lead a righteous cause (in their mind) to end something like this.

20 days of room/board and frolic for 8k baht. The guy did well.
