Update on Advice Needed For Ex ??? Bargirl (Farmgirl)

Hey Badger, lots of good advice here, but I would disregard the age difference, it doesn't seem to count here, my TGF is 28 years younger than me, has her own bussiness and is self sufficient, and doesn't ask me for a penny, my mate who lives in UT has had a TGF for 2 years, 33 years younger, and they live on the bread line, but she loves him so she is finishing university and looking for a job to help out their finances, another mate lives just outside UT and has just married a girl 40 years younger than him, and a happier couple you will find it hard to see. Must be said though, none of these girls have ever worked in a bar, however. I have met some bar girls in the past who were decent girls just making ends meet, not all bar girls are bad, hope you are lucky, remember this - if she is the right one and you let her go on the advice of strangers, you will never forgive yourself, tread with care, but follow your dream !

A friend who actually served in the Vietnam war once told me, if you hear anyone say the been in Nam you know they have not. We who served never said Nam... correct me if I'm wrong.

You just need to ditch the one on the side in Bangkok,invite us all to your wedding in the village later this year once you have set up the telephone lines for the village and get online.
Hope you can prove me wrong about the age gap and make it work otherwise come back with a new forum heading in a years time 'Farmgirl screwed me big time!'

Well !! My thanks to all who responded to my call for advice on "Isaan Farm Girl". Particularly BKKSTAN PAKAWALA DOC AARDVARRK ARJAY and rickfarang some good avice there. I have a much better take on it now so thanks all !! some have been negative nad I can understand there is a lot of bitterness ut there regarding FAILED relationships.
I can honestly say I have never had a failed relationship both personally or proffessionally NOTHING IS FOREVER

Seaserpent, Tell your friend he needs to get out and about more. I was at Newcumberland Army Depot and we had a lot of guy's returning from "Nam" their words, not mine, and without exception they all wanted to go back. I think the big attraction was the beaches and the girls, not necessarily in that order. Let me add that things started to heat up about a month before I was discharged, so the use of "Nam" may been banned after I got out, not sure.

Like I said NOTHING IS FOREVER!! When "ITS TIME" you read the signs cover your back, SMILE and MOVE ON !!. And TRY to leave people leaving good about the experience ! I have never been "screwed over" by any woman.
I asked for advice because my experience with a Girl from the Isaan is NIL Every women is different and Thank god for that !! I am not a "butterfly" or a "fool in love" as some as suggested. The "regular girl" in BKK is a whole different thing. A good friend who takes care of me both with my Business and personally.
Re the fact that "farm girl worked in a bar, that means nothing to me. Some of the girls I have met in the bars are the Best people I have met in my life.
There are some real diamonds out there. Just good people making ends meet.
In contrast some of the people I meet in my professional life are the worst scum of the planet.
Sure there are some huge gaps between 'farm girl" and myself. Age being the least of these.
Everything in life is about what YOU BRING TO THE TABLE !! "Farm girl has her looks and youth, I have my wealth and experience and the ability to change her life.
Every relationship Personal or Professional has to be mutally benifical for it to go the distance.
I will indeed take things slowly. I will formulate my plan, come to The Isaan to meet the family and see what developes. I have no expectations at all other than to have fun with a beautiful girl, treat her well and experience a part of Asia I have not seen. Once again feel free to comment or insult me.

Ok up to you keep your regular in Bangkok but ditch her when you get serious with the farmgirl,sorry that you think we all have failed relationships here on this forum and that you have never had one yet.Best of luck but just avoid getting caught butterflying!

Yes, agreed, but do be careful, if she is dishonest, or taking you for a ride, the more you bring her to realise that "you have the wealth to change her life" - as you put it, - the more she could take advantage of it, or play you, simply to milk that wealth.

Rightly or wrongly, I tend to hide my "wealth" and plead relative poverty. That way I get to know if they really love me, or my perceived wealth!!

I strongly recommend that you don't put too many cards on the table too quickly, or too much money!!

Also, the topic of age keeps recurring. I would judge things more by if you have enough common ground or shared interests. Though I guess you will already realise (as do I with my GF) that you won't be able to hold articulate and intelligent conversations about many things.

I must confess to being married to an "Issan Farmers Daughter" and she is 20 yrs younger than me, but I must be lucky cause I know I'm not smart, and I could not have hoped for a more caring and loyal partner. From the start I told her I was rich in Thailand but poor at home. She excepted that although she never really understood it. She came for a 6 month visit the first time and saw the bills that had to be paid and the income I had and did her own arithmatic. She turned everything into Baht and realised the cost of living here was miles above Thailand. She still married me knowing there was no pot at the end of the rainbow and to her credit and my good luck she makes plans now so she can look after me "when I get old".For every negative you read on these and other pages about an "Issan Farmers Daughter" I can assure you there is a possitive to counter it. In my opinion badger, go for it my son and may luck be on your side. If I had listened to all the negatives sprouted by the loosers in Thailand that had been screwed I'd have missed the love of my life. Nothing personal intended to forum members.

oh dear...........mmmm i heard about this story bfore,yes many story happen like this with old farang and young lady who is you pick her from bar 99.99%,yes if you think you can change crocodie ok go ahead, i agree with paul, i think different lady different thinking ,my ex student she just 19 marry with man 52 and they ok and happy they live in Norway and now have little girl, and i heard more about bad story 21 young lady married with farang man he 50 when she arrived uk,her husband send her to school then she run with the man in same class,proved her bfore, easy if you want young lady pretty have many in Thailand they all pretty ,but if you need nice lady see what she do, how about her social,yes pretty not forever but hosnest and love is important,FINDING GOOD CAN GET GOODTHING FINDING BAD CAN GET BADTHING,HOPE YOU LUCKY,AND HOPE ALL FARANF LUCKY WITH THAI LADY WHO IS YOU PICK HER FROM BAR ....

Not all Ladies have come from the Bar scene. My wife and I have personally introduced 3 couples who are so far happily married, one couple with a baby due in early Febuary, where the Ladies in question had never travelled further from their Village than Udon, let alone ever setting foot in a Bar. IMHO these Ladies probably had a harder time adapting to Western culture than the ones who had experienced Western behaviour before. I sincerely hope that as Thai poeple you dont begrudge anyone the oportunity for happiness in life even ex Bargirls
