Muslims have been plotting against us infidels for OVER 1400 YEARS!!

To their way of thinking, seven years is barely worth noticing.

But then, explaining something to you is like trying to explain to a brick wall.

I would love to see some (credible) evidence to back up this statement, paka [-o<

The only 'credible' evidence I can come up with just now is the KORAN.

So how would you rank the relative credibility of the Koran and the Bible?

After all, the Bible ain't exactly kind to those of other religions, and has been around for a lot longer than 1400 years.

Where do I start (you must excuse me if I am a bit rusty, as it has been at least 45 years since I read the Bible):

Deuteronomy 13:6-10 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Deuteronomy 13:12-16 If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the Lord thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying, 13 Certain men, the children [3] of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; 14 Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; 15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. 16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again. 17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; 18 When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the Lord thy God.

I won't bore you any further - you probably get the picture.

I think great care should be taken when quoting "scriptures".
Whether the "Old Testament" or "The Koran".
I think most Christians believe that the hardened approach of The Old Testament was modified/nullified by the teachings of compassion (to all) made by Jesus Christ and contained in the "New Testament".
As far as The Koran is concerned my understanding is that the different interpretations (non-Muslims are lower beings who should be destroyed if they are not willing to convert or non-Muslims are misguided and so deserver pity) depends upon the interpretation of the meaning of 1 particular ancient Arab word - which can have a number of different meanings.
It should be remembered that all these volumes were written many, many years ago - in languages that no longer exist, with the original source material no longer available, originally written by human beings (& not Gods) often many 100's of years after the events that they are reporting on & subject to "politically correct" (at the time) translations along the way.

Indeed Bob. So whatever scripture you are talking about, it will be subject to contemporary interpretation, to suit the agenda of whoever is doing the interpreting.

talking about NARROW MINDED...

Just read some words from Einstein:

perhaps they will enlighten your narrow mind

The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking ... the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker.

I guess that the solution that Einstein was looking for won't be found in your hart... :D :D :D :D

I was reading Bon Helm post and IMO as a believer of God I truly believe all those religious
books are false and misguiding. they were written by man which is subject to being full of crap
and it no different today man will tell you any thing to get his agenda passed point of
interest is what GWB told us about WMD in Iraq solely to get us in to a war & sadly we are
still there

The Bible is still the highest selling book in the world Ron, so there must still be a lot of believers out there. I'm not one of them :D
