USA Imigration Reform

Postby Farang1 » April 21, 2010, 6:43 pm

You asked for it....You got.

And I thought Obama was done inflicting indignities to the American people!
I KNEW this was going to happen. (That way Obama wasn't lying when he said illegals would not be able to get medical coverage under his ObamaCare plan. His simple fix is to make them all legal first.)

IT TELLS ABOUT THE BILL GOING THRU CONGRESS RIGHT NOW REGARDING IMMIGRATION.

NOTICE THAT THIS IS FROM CNN, NOT FOX!!!

This would end up to be a real slap in the face to all Americans both, born and naturalized. Especially the naturalized who went though all the legal step to become an American.

But, what else would you expect from a president that doesn't want to show favoritism to the very country he is suppose to represent?

No......it's Lou Dobbs. And his track record for spewing anti-immigration volcanic ash is legendary. A quick check on google came up with this from March 19, 2010:
Apparently under pressure from immigration reform advocates who will march Sunday on the Capitol, Sens. Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.) published their blueprint for an immigration reform bill on Thursday and President Barack Obama quickly expressed his supportfor it.

And another from today's date:
Immigration Legislation Gains Traction

BY LAURA MECKLER

WASHINGTON—The effort to pass comprehensive immigration legislation gained some traction Tuesday, as congressional leaders discussed a path to passing the bill this year and President Barack Obama wooed Republican Sen. Scott Brown to support it.

Conventional wisdom has been that the issue is too volatile for action in an election year, and that other matters would take priority. But immigration advocacy groups have been pressing hard for action.

At a Capitol Hill meeting Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that he was committed to bringing the legislation to the floor this year, according to one ...

Let's see: not a single Republican supported the health care reform bill......the Republicans didn't support financial reform until...suddenly....Goldman Sachs is under fire. But yet, I see a few Republicans supporting Immigration reform.

I should temper my first comment about rocks for brains. Lou Dobbs has rocks for brains. My apologies to Farang 1.

Just what America needs -- another entitlement culture to milk the productive and more ignorance in the population regarding the history, laws and values.

But I doubt that anything will pass on this issue for awhile. At least, it won't be anything sweeping and radical. Too many politicians stuck their necks out on health care, and they know they will pay dearly in November. They also know that if they try another cramdown, they'll have no chance for political recovery.
