VCR Videocassette recorder

Just as a matter of interest Lee, because I have a large Vid collection I took a quick look at the Vid to dvd converter put up by google. Is this the software that you use ? and is it safe ? What do you recomend ?

I have one Lee, I can drop off at Udonmap office on Monday.

Lee, If the card can record to a hard drive, then it would seem counter productive to convert back to analog, when the file can be rendered as a DVD. But not sure what your goal is.

If you have firewire on your computer, the best way to do it is connect your VCR to your video camera and connect the camera to your computer via firewire, which uses the camera as a pass through and converts it to digital also, then convert using Studio, Power Director, Vegas or similar.
I use this way for converting film also and the quality actually improves.

Wow thanks for the tip. I never would have thought of that and it saves me from having to buy additional software. I already have firewire from converting mini DV to DVD. Thanks again
