at the car wash

Post by old-timer » August 3, 2009, 6:10 pm

Now, today I got the car washed and to be quite honest I feel like going back and running over the people responsible. I opted for the wax option and my paintwork now looks like someone has smudged a chocolate curly-wurly over its entirety - so my question is - where is the best valued, decent car wash in UT?
thanks.

I'd rather not name and shame, it was on the ring road between the big C and KK road (ooops :guiness: )

I've found the car wash on Srisuk Rd. (behind Desjoyaux pools), almost to the corner of the Ring Rd., to be very good and thorough (attention to detail). It is run by a Vietnamese man.
150 THB for wash & vacuum + tip (optional, I usually give 20 THB). I know, I'm a big spender :D . I'm not sure how much wax is.
Plus, there is a great little hole-in-the-wall restaurant next to the place, for while you're waiting.

I use the one at the rear of the Shell garage, just up the road from Mojos. Usually go on a Saturday when parking at a premium in town.
Outside, inside, tyres blacked for 120Baht. Usually give 20baht tip. Not had a scratch or anything missing.

I stopped using the underground complex mob, after a poor qucik job and loose change left in the car and all gone, ( was a trap )

Went to the Tesco valet mob and cant fault them, superb and good service, not as cheap as some other local places and my loose change was presented to me in a small plastic bag ! ( they didnt fall for that one )

The girl who checks you in speaks reasonable english and they have different offers to suit the budget, from a normal wash and clean to a full cut n polish, eng steamed cleaned, etc........

and all cleaning products not fully used are given back , for personal use after etc...

I was alerted to the possible theft the previous time, looking for 20 b for the parking guy at the restaurent later the same night.

So the sting was set, the number of the 20 baht noted and , Harry Houdi 1 hour later, it had dissappeared, showed the owner manager, the guy who did my car wasnt there ! strange about that, so paid the money, voted with my throttle and never went back since. Make a big scene, could have done, and as i do park under there regulary, no doubt, would have had a nice scratch ?? later on ?????

Missus just smiled and said u Expats are clever ! she is very happy with the new valet at Tesco, as she gets to have MK or Black Canyon, ummmm, im still being fleeced by the car wash, but only indirectly this time ! LOL

The Valet company in Tesco's car park do the best job, the wax lasts a long time.
A bit more expensive, but worth it.
They give the best hand job in town. =D>

I have the car used the car wash in the left hand corner of Macro,s car park several times and they do a great job, inside and out, no theft of cd,s cash from inside, 100 bt ,i think the main man is called "Oonn" and usually give 20-50 baht tip depending how flush i am. Just leave it, do your shop and collect when you are finished.
