Bookhouse & Coffeeshop Closed for a few days -

it is with regret , i have to post this very sad message to our friends and customers

Nok ( Mrs L ) Dad , Manad passed away this morning in Udon Hospital.

he had been staying with us for a few months , and we have seen his health rapidly deteriorating in this time until just a few days ago , we took him to Hospital .

he was a very nice , kind , gentle man who leaves behind a wife , daughter , brother and mum , plus a grandson
but we take some comfort to know he has gone to a place free of pain and suffering , a better place

he will be missed by many

we will be closed for a few days

Sincere thanks for all your kind words , Nok has read them all and was amazed at the quantity of texts , emails phone calls and web posts .

12 Hours after her Dad died , he was cremated here in Udon and we had a nice service with Monks and a traditional Buddhist Ceremony

a special Thankyou to all our good friends who came to the service as a show of friendship and support to Nok and her Mum

it is moving to know our local community has so many nice , caring , selfless people. Thankyou.

we are going to Bangkok today ( Nok and her family hail from Bangkok ) to sort out the estate and family matters and will return on Friday .

we will open again , for business as usual ,on Saturday Morning , see you then .
