Re: police clearances
The police clearance certificate is given free of charge, see attached . However my friendly neighbourhood BIB tells me it may take 10k if it needs cleaning . :-" http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eservice.php

Re: Police clearance certificates
Before I paid that fee for any reason,I would ask the GF for the name of the BIB,saying that I was to make more enquiries.
Are you confident that this is not a ploy for money by her or that she is comfortable investigating by talking to other BIB's about it?
For NK,where I live ,it doesn't seem kosher, unless,as Trubrit pointed out, there is some ''cleaning up to do''.

Re: Police clearance certificates
ronnie,
if nongkhai police do idiot go ask in udon , i think there is no need to go all the way to bangkok, in my case we just happen to be there.., i also think any main police station can give you this one ( even they must consult or leave it send by bangkok) , and it still is free, ( but even if you have to shuffle 500-1.000 bath under the table to ease the pain,it is thai style, ok , but not 10.000...)
good luck

Re: Police clearance certificates
Trekkertony is spot on with his information. We recently went through the process in Bangkok.
I would like to add though that the certificate is ready to be picked up at the Police Clearance Service Center in Bangkok. I asked if it could be mailed to us here in Udonthani. It was and I believe that it cost 40 or perhaps 100 Baht.

Re: Police clearance certificates
Sound like someone is out to RID YOU of Bt10,000, this Clearance should be given FREE of Charge, providing the TGF has a clean RECORD, if she doesn't, it could cost even more<>HINT>BRIBE, if this is the case you SHOULD BE Leer of taking this TGF to your Homeland.

Re: Police clearance certificates
We had TWs done in Bangkok, one for 2 year Temp Residency a another 2 years later for her Permanent Residency. Technically free but on each occasion it was 'hinted' we could get it quicker for 500 Baht. On the latter my 500 Baht disappeared out the door whilst TW was being finger printed and a short time later the girl came back with lunch which both TW and I were invited to participate in, 555555. Anyway, on both occasions it was posted to us, EMS, within a week.

Re: Police clearance certificates
BTW, the Aust embassy requires the certificate be addressed to them only. See attachment
Re: Police clearance certificates
thanks for that info.
i was not aware that she would need one for the temp visa and then another one for the permanent visa after two years, aspecially when you have to submit both visas at the same time as each other.
