Re: Weather

The weather is starting to improve although the winds are still strong. There is a wind chill of -13, and the temperature might rise to +4 tomorrow. It is snowing in the city at the moment. The U.S., in particular Western New York, is having a much worse time of it. Buffalo has had around 36 deaths from the blizzard experienced there. Trains between Toronto and Montreal and Ottawa again after getting shut down for a few days. Toronto airports are having many flight delays just as Shado reported in the U.S.A. In addition, there is a problem getting baggage off planes to passengers owing to the bitter cold. Methinks it is not that cold at -25. When I worked for the railway, unloading and loading boxcars in Saskatoon in 1971, the temperature plunged to -30 to -40 at night.

A sterling report from Khun Shado and Uncle T on the situation regarding the cold snap on the North American continent. BBC forecasters have stated that the weather over there has accelerated the jet stream, which will cause a sweep of heavy rain across Blighty this week with snow north of the border.

Keep those testes hanging loose, readers.

Ozarks update (for those who even care)

Thursday, 22 December 2023 low temperature was minus twenty two degrees. (-22 C) = (-8 F)
Thursday, 29 December 2023 high temperature was plus twenty two degrees - (+22 C) = (+72 F)

That's a pretty wild swing even for the Missouri Ozarks. North America is experiencing some very rare weather phenomena this December. Warming with predicted rain in western New York state so now the residents there may experience a quick thaw and major flooding after digging out from the massive snowstorm. Airlines are prepping for the New Year holiday traffic.

Toronto climbed out of the minus temperatures to a +11 today, and tomorrow will bring more of the same. Saturday and New Year's Day will have lots of rain. It turns out that over 60 died in Western New York during the blizzard.

Unseasonal wet in Ho Chi Minh city right now so with the seasonal norms pretty much out the window all over the world, maybe we'll get another cool spell or two before it gets all betty swallocks again.

Was a tad warmer in Bangkok yesterday versus a few days earlier. Right now having coffee on the balcony and since it's on the shaded side of the building, it's similar to Oodorn temps. Nice. But I'd better go put some clothes on anyway as I see some weirdos lurking in the parking garage across the way (again).

Whatever service feeds my phone's weather notifications says we might have some overnight showers here. Precipitation alert at 30% at 04:00 and rising.

A sprinkling of the wet stuff this AM about 0800 hours, nothing much enough to gently wash the leaves, nowt to write home about. Still need to water the garden

It is rain, rain, rain and more rain for the next week or so in Vancouver, British Columbia. I made the mistake of leaving my umbrella behind in Toronto.
