Tourism fee to help insure foreigners visiting the kingdom
Hope this passes, could save on health insurance costs.
The National Tourism Policy Committee has approved the proposed guidelines for the collection of a 300-baht tourism fee from each international visitor for the management of local tourist destinations.
The money will also be used to provide insurance benefits to international tourists visiting the country.

IMO ... i think a 300- 500 bt tourist entry fee would be perfectly ok... SO long as the revenue goes to the right places.

This is on top of the 500 baht exit fee included in your Ticket from years ago. And you still need your Covid insurance to enter no matter what. Just another scam ...
Re: Tourism fee to help insure foreigners visiting the kingdom
is there any tourists to pay it?

I hope it is included in the ticket price. People having to front cash at some exit booth means a long queue and hands in the till..

If it’s in the ticket price do you really think the airlines will cover the additional admin costs for free. Add on their secret markup.

Anyone else remember going to the booths at Don Muang to pay their departure tax before checking in or getting your boarding passes if you tried to be fast and checked in first?

GOV’T TO CHARGE FOREIGN TOURISTS 300 BAHT FOR ‘TOURISM DEVELOPMENT’
Sounds like the 300 Baht is still onthe table but it may not be for Medical

Re: Tourism fee to help insure foreigners visiting the kingdom
I expect that every expat will have to pay it as well - they think of us as long term tourists. The suggested use of funds for health purposes is only to pay for those tourists who cannot pay their hospital bills. So that is about 5% accounted for, the rest is for vanity projects carried out by the rich and powerful, now paid for by foreigners......and all with a very healthy profit margin for them.
