NEW restaurant

Post by tomboy » April 6, 2021, 11:47 am

After selling their bar/restaurant for a substantial sum of money I am told that Steve and Mali have now opened a new place just up the road to the one they sold.So much for telling the expats that after many years in catering that they had decided to RETIRE albeit for just two months.I just wonder what the new owner of the bar they sold think of them opening a new place in competition and in the same location.

It's Thai style. Common practice, if they see a good potential sale The will open up a store.
Dont give a damn about existing shops.
Lady I know has a corner shop in Ban Nongkham. Poor soul struggled for years makes so little money.
Then, they opened up brand new building estate right opposite.
So what happened. Two open new shops! Next door her, and opposite!

Right here it is straight from the horses mouth. I have nothing to do with this place namely the Gossip bar and bistro, it is solely owned by Nong who is Malia daughter. Mali at the moment is helping her with the food until she can find a competent cook. We spent twenty two years catering for people like you that thinks it is dispicable to open up just down the road from the Tbar why don't you get your facts right before you start plastering things over the internet. The owners of the Tbar now have nothing to worry about and I don't think they are. As I previously stated we have retired and would like people to stop putting rubbish like this on the forum so we can enjoy a peaceful retirement.

A clear and concise repudiation of the blatant lies and disinformation of the OP. The sad thing is that such a disclaimer should be necessary in the first place but I guess there are sad people living their sad lives everywhere.

I reckon you should slap the OP and the few exceedingly dim followers with a bit of defamation. That will get the nonsense stirring forum curtain-twitchers, lurkers and pillocks something to think about.

I don't think you will find a better man in Udon than Steve G (no relation to the other G).
It's a shame that after being a great friend to many expats in Udon other the years, that someone in Udon would malign him.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

IMHO the situation is not all "black and white". The OP has seen something he may have misunderstood?
In his own words Steve has acknowledged Mali, has a vested interest by helping out her daughter.
I'd call it "grey", the subject needs to be dropped.

Be honest wouldn't you want to help your daughter out as it is only until she finds a competent cook who can cook western food or she trains somebody up

Knowing Steve for many years I can vouch that he is 100% retired.
He is an honest and ethical man and simply would not open another restaurant in the area.
We must remember Steve has no control as regards what other household members choose to invest in be it wrong or right..!!!

Sorry BD but the "misunderstood" OP's post is simply dripping with malice and bad intent. From mentioning the sale for a "substantial sum of money" to the rather poisonous accusation of lying to his customers and friends by "So much for telling the expats that after many years in catering that they had decided to RETIRE". The OP is an axe grind if ever I saw one.

The OP needs to apologize, pull his head in or both.

Then we can drop it.
