This post (and numerous others) would seem to contradict that.Khun Paul wrote: ↑April 26, 2022, 5:44 pmWell in response to all, I buy what I LIKE BUGGER THE COST< IF IT IS BECOMING TOO MUCH I either accept it or change to something else.

I think you mean bugger the cabin boy, Sir, I know those tiny telephone keys can be problematic if you have thumbs like a master butcher.
I'll send him to your bunk this evening (the cabin boy not the butcher).

Re: Inflation
13months in the US immunized us against the fears of inflation in Thailand (at least, thus far). My wife marvels at the cheap prices in the Nongwahsaw market.....as compared to those in the US (2020). Local prices would have to go up substantially to match those from 2020........and skyrocket to match prices today in the US.
Higher prices are coming for Thailand, no doubt. Mama noodles seems to be the Thai benchmark.....and prices for those are going up for the first time in several years. Diesel subsidies are due to end, palm oil prices are going up, fertilizer prices are shooting up......so it's only a matter of time before that reaches the market. For the time being......enjoy!
Photo = a few cents over $2.00

The Great Sourdough Conspiracy has finally hit Big C, Ban Dung.tamada wrote: ↑April 16, 2022, 11:39 pmDamn the luck! I haven't seen a large for ages. However, I find the smaller one keeps better in these warmer times in that it's finished before it goes off. I don't like keeping bread, any bread, in the fridge.jackspratt wrote: ↑April 16, 2022, 8:26 pmFortunately I got the large size (which was the old large size) for THB102.
But I did notice the smaller loaf is now the same price as the larger was at the beginning of the year.
Bloody hell - I will soon be unable to afford to eat. But the good news is that a box of big Leo is still 614.
Good result on the Leo though. Can't wait till they start that 3 different large size confusion like the other blackguards do.
After not seeing the large loaf for several days, there was one today - except it was what appeared to be a slightly upsized small loaf.
FMD - 38% price increase this year, plus the loaf size falling by 40%.
I passed , and am now looking for an alternative breakfast toast source.
Re: Inflation
Strangely enough.....before I met my wife, corn was maybe the only ?veggie? I ate. My Polish mother knew only how to boil veggies, no seasoning, no flavor....then my wife introduced me to stir fry, somptom, tomyom, lahb.......it's probably one of the reasons I'm still alive today.

Re: Inflation
Jesus wept , just out of curiosity I looked up how much fish and chips are back at my old chippy, friggin £9.80. Even a steak pie is £2.70. Small bag of chips £2.90,large £3.90. No wonder their screaming about prices in the UK.

Re: Inflation
The UK's chippy's are going out of business fast. The industry used to get 70% of their cod and other white fish from Russia. Better get it while you can.papafarang wrote: ↑May 18, 2022, 6:11 pmJesus wept , just out of curiosity I looked up how much fish and chips are back at my old chippy, friggin £9.80.
