Genuine question ..........How?

If on a rare occasion a film comes on TV that I have already seen (that would be any of 20 films since about 1960) I turn the channel over to watch something I've not seen before or turn it off and go do something else. Not sure how you can watch the same stuff again when you already know how it ends ....... like watching highlights on match of the day Saturday night, and then watching a full tape of the game on Sunday ...... cant be done

Not a movie but i love every couple years to re-watch some old tv series. The one that never gets old is 'Auf wiedersehen Pet'

oh there's 25-30 genuine classic war films for
example desert fox , lawrence of arabia, four
feathers, battle of bulge, the blue max etc

you're lucky to catch 1-2 year. i often almost
completely forget story/action . bridge over river
kwai , guns of navarone, dirty dozen etc.,

Nothing but American and a few British - so disregarding those I nominate:

Jules et Jim
Belle de Jour
Breathless

Tonight's Movie for the next 4 nights.

"Lonesome Dove" - the greatest Western ever. Always be yourself, unless you can be Gus.

Larry McMurtry died this year. I first read Lonesome Dove in 1986. After the mini-series was released in 1989 I read it again. A native Texan, no one could capture of essence of the American west like McMurtry. Cadillac Jack, Horseman, Pass By, The Last Picture Show, and Terms of Endearment are just a few of his other outstanding novels. Lonesome Dove, as you say, is the greatest Western ever, both the book and the mini-series.

I'm not cultured enough to appreciate many of what are considered classics. Most of the best actors are now dead and gone. I'm partial to violence and shoot em up action movies. I also like them to be somewhat realistic. Some of the shoot em up movies are way overdone.
