water rate increase

Post by 38nholding » February 29, 2008, 11:31 am

Coming soon. But I have asked people who work for the water works company ,and no one can tell me how much it even is now !! my bill last month was 150 bhat for 14000 liters. That should be .01 bhat per liter.(or close enough). I was told that it would go up 1/2 bhat per liter .Meaning my bill will go from 150 to over 7000. hilarious

My wife comes from Nonghai Vllage about 18klm from Udon and assure's me they pay 60bht per month for each house reghardless of the amount used. If you live closer to town it might cost more, but I dont know ???

i believe 58 baht is the minimum for service and set amount of water. bill doesn't increase until the amount is surpassed, then additional payments needed.

38nholding,

Up to 6000 liters is 0.00833 baht per liter. (1000 liters = 8.33 baht)
Over 6000 liters is 0.00775 baht per liter. (1000 liters = 7.75 baht) *

* I can only tell you about usages of 7000 and 8000 liters per month because I do not have any statements other than those. Perhaps higher usages such as 14,000 liters could possibly be at a different rate.

On my statements there is always a 30 baht service charge plus the usual 7% tax on the total.

I would venture a guess that you were a recipient of a rumor mill regarding the jump in the rate per liter, or somebody slipped the decimal point a bit (perhaps they meant 1/2 baht/1000 liters ??). I know they have not change the rate since I moved here, in November, 2005.... maybe it is due.

I am happy to pay an increase if only they can keep the water coming. Whe city water doesn't keep up, its 100 Statang per liter to have my tank filled by the water truck.

And when I first moved here two years ago, I wondered in the world I would need a water tank if there is city water...
