Thai Air cancels Direct Flights to NYC

I had a prepaid round trip ticket with Thai and went to the office and they were very helpful to give me a choice between a refund or a trip to LAX which adds 6 hours. I am waiting to see if they do a 50% refund or play some games on the refund. Only flight they had was to Japan and connection with United but you had only 15 minutes to transfer which is impossible.

Sparky, Why did'nt you take their flight to Japan,and tell them O.K. IF they pay hotel for you & you connect the next day........Some years ago I was flying SAS out of Manchester to Bangkok,Via Copenhagen,and due to there being 18 inches of snow in Copenhagen ( Airport Closed ) SAS put us in a 5* hotel overnight ( inc ALL Meals ) flew us to Heathrow next day and out here on Thai.......A FREE Night IN Tokyo,Yes Please !!
