Kee Neow

Post by panick » August 23, 2009, 12:56 am

Kee Neow ... What a lovely saying ... Tight fisted, Cheapskate or even Cheap Charlie ( just for you Yanks )
But Hey! lets break it down to English!
Kee .... Toilet
Neow .... Old rice? ( ie Khao Neow ... old rice sticky )
Great ... You're not really a miser, you've got old rice in your pocket and because its ( stick rice ) it stays where it is!
Okay , lets take it a step further ....
Kee Kwee ... You talk BIG! ie. " I'm a director in a major company " but I'm really the stock boy and sweep up when needed! .... Now, Kwee, is the same as talk (phoodt) .... So does that mean you talk sh#t?
Kee Maa ... Easy for you ol'timers .... Toilet dog!
Are you getting the gist here?
ps, each Kee is the SAME tone!!!
Why can't they just have a simple word fo sh#t!

Another one I'm surprised you missed is farang kee nok. White bird s**t.
And another one for stingy, from my well thumbed Thai Profanisaurus is kee dtuut. colloquialism
Ar$ehole, I thought it was ruu- daak.

Yes Panick I suppose hua kii could be ---- head but you might get some funny looks. Siiu = pimple (white head?) Things we say like junk food really are lost in translation. Ah yes Prenders I forgot kii nok. Kee dtuut is new on me. Hoo kii is a vulgar colloquialism for anus (oficially = ta-waan-nak) not sure if used as an insult. I remember it from my biology classes on Soi Cowboy...Image

Just ran these two through the wife and sister in law. After laughter and perhaps amazement at where I'd found them, she suggested that using either to a Thai almost guarantees a punch-up!
