Maybe not for paying utilities at Tesco, but I've used it for check in on domestic flights, ID at banks, and the police seem to like them.

Today at 12.00 went to Tescos in Nong Saeng, paid the TOT 650 bt internet bill.In/out 3. Mins.NO ID required. I think it is aĺl about personal recognition by staff

not about personal recognition
As kut chap tesco where I have been going years and some staff I know and wife knows
Needed id a month ago but went today and no id required from young woman I do not know at all
Think new staff but not trainee
