BritishPM

Post by Old Grumpy » July 23, 2019, 6:05 pm

Another tousled haired blonde enters the world stage.Wonder if his parents knew what he would become when they named him Boris? If he can do what he talks it will be good, but I doubt it, the only thing he may achieve is to make Corbyn look intelligent at prime ministers question time, thats a major achievement in itself.

Vote Conservative, vote Boris, you know it makes sense .

A vote for anyone else increases the chance of a Marxist government

That explains a lot - he is still thinking in Greek! But something is lost in translation .....

A Washington Post editorial opines:

"Such rhetoric is typical of Mr. Johnson, an intelligent and witty former journalist who is known for improvisation, inattention to detail and frequent false statements. In that, and in his populist appeals to older Britons who long for bygone days when the country was a world power, the new prime minister resembles President Trump. But Mr. Johnson has mostly avoided Mr. Trump’s hateful appeals to racism and ugly disparagement of opponents; instead, he offers an upbeat vision of a country that can rise again if only, as he put it Tuesday, “we . . . believe in ourselves and what we can do.”

Americans can only hope he succeeds, as the continuance of Britain’s political gridlock will only further weaken the West at a time when its democratic values are under assault from foreign powers and domestic extremists".

GT93: Good luck to the UK. It will need it with another man-child in high office.
