Why would a logical person oppose them? Why don't you ask yourself why a logical person would want them? For an individual who has his head up Trump's ass and dislikes the federal government so much, you sure seem to want to give them more power. We already have a national ID card here United States, it's called a social security card. Why would I need another national ID card with my picture on it? The state you live in already has that, whether it be a driver's license or a residence card. Your reasoning for one is idiotic and it's redundant to carry around more IDs.

And by the way, moron, you do not need to carry an ID with you when you are out and about here in the United States.
If you cannot see the benefit of a national ID card, you are even more stupid than I thought.
There are no benefits, moron. How many different ID cards do you need here in the United States, moron? But as I stated in my previous post, moron, we already have a national ID card, it's our social security card, moron.

What was the topic of this thread??

So, long as we're off topic......
My personal opinion on a US National ID Card, it's not needed. Every US Citizen has a SSN (with the exception of new born babies, at least until the parents get them registered). Vast majority of American's have State Drivers Licenses.

Expect, if there is a National ID Card enacted it'll use a persons SSN for identification/tracking.

On voting, each state has their own ID requirements..........which I'm 99% sure will have to include the voters SSN.
Ref:
About half of the states with voter ID laws accept only photo IDs. These include
driver's licenses
state-issued ID cards
military ID cards
passports
Many of these states now offer a free voter photo ID card if you don't have another form of valid photo ID.

Other states accept some types of non-photo ID. These may include
birth certificates
Social Security cards
bank statements
utility bills
* non-photo ID a bit weak, but with technology expect anyone can forge some sort of Photo ID....what they can't do is make up a bogus SSN (at least one that won't get tagged). SSN's aren't perfect (deaths, stolen or sold), but expect a National ID card would have the same problems.

Guess and Wish (mostly Wish).

Over 320 Biden vs Under 210 Trump, so 110 Electoral Vote Difference.

20 Million (had 15m, but since it's my guess/wish might as well go big) Individual Voter Difference.
Just figured I'd get the thread back on topic, and double down on my prediction.

You are indeed more stupid than I thought. You can buy all sorts of ID off the streets in California. Want a drivers' license, no problem. A birth certificate, again no problem. Of course a national ID card would include a Social Security number. Maybe the government would check the SS number to see if it came from a dead person.

Have you ever heard of identity theft, credit card fraud, Voter fraud, false employment documents? A national ID card would stop these as well as containing emergency medical problem notifications. It would stop states like California from profiting from fake ID documents.

Should just use the chinese Communist system of facial recognition ,its all the same thing. As for ID cards it would be just another thing to be stolen ,identity fraud ,credit card fraud and you just give them national identity fraud as well. So that's no argument

Not sure what credit card fraud and identity theft has to do with politics. These crimes are associated with money scamming not as a mechanism to vote.

Trump has claimed illegals have voted, but so far, no proof

Pls take the time to review countries with and w/o National ID Cards.................and pls note the USA has a defined voluntary National ID Card.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_n ... by_country

See if we can agree, National ID Cards benefit some US citizens and for others it's just another card (take it or leave it). So, while some might see the value of it, other don't...............seems fair to me............as it's available if you want/need it (of course, you'll have to pay for it along with your passport).

For the card to be effective, it would have to be mandatory and issued by the federal government. Since it is a free country you wouldn't have to have the card. That would make it difficult if not impossible to buy an air ticket, get a drivers license, bank account, credit card or vote.

But why ? I use my passport to book a ticket , use my driving licence to open a bank account ,and as you say they can't make it mandatory otherwise it would against american freedoms , and as for voting you fill in a form they send you. What actual use would a national I'd card have ? Would it also be compulsory to carry it ?. Maybe the socialists will bring it in after they win next week

A passport is the best photo ID there is right now. I have to show it quite often here in Thailand. Not everyone in the US has a passport.

Best Photo ID, really depends on an individuals needs/requirements/location.
Obviously, living overseas as an American you need a passport.

You're correct not everyone in the US owns a passport. From what I see that's pretty much standard for 99% of countries that issue passports (only 99%, as can't finds any country where a passport is mandatory.....but that doesn't mean their aren't 1 or 2). Not sure what your point is?????

The point is that without a passport in a foreign country, other forms of ID are simply not acceptable.

Do you think that because you have a passport, that you leave all your other ID cards at home. Why do they insist on a passport rather than any other form of ID? Don't be so obtuse.

In 1979, Denmark granted home rule to Greenland; in 2008, Greenlanders voted in favor of the Self-Government Act, which transferred more power from the Danish government to the local Greenlandic government.[20] Under the new structure, Greenland has gradually assumed responsibility for policing, judicial system, company law, accounting, and auditing; mineral resource activities; aviation; law of legal capacity, family law and succession law; aliens and border controls; the working environment; and financial regulation and supervision, while the Danish government retains control of foreign affairs and defence.
