The Marie Curie Foundation are floating the idea of a "Day of Reflection" for those lost to or affected by Covid. The date being suggested is 23 March, the day the U.K. entered their first lock down.

Since we're still in the middle of this "war", I think it's premature and all a bit mawkish. Next they'll be calling for CV Day to celebrate the vaccination of the first (or last) British citizen.

Maybe a trip to Russia is worth the shot.

From the reports that I have read, the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine (also know as Gam-COVID-Vac), gives around 92% protection against Covid-19, and is in a late stage trial. Results published in The Lancet 9Link below). It is also currently being delivered and rolled out in some Countries.

The Sputnik or Gam-COVID-Vac apparently uses a similar if not same approach as the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine, from what I can understand, although I am not a Virologist.

It is also said/reported to be even more effective those in the Higher Risk groups of Age and Health

Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine (also know as Gam-COVID-Vac) is also looking very promising. I wonder if it will surface in Thailand, for use. :-k

Its hard to put a figure on how many highly effective vaccines the World will have by mid this year but it looks like at least six.

That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

I was under the impression the vaccine doe's not prevent you catching or spreading the virus, merely eases the symptoms when you have it. With a 99.97% cure rate I will take my chances...

Only if their genomic sequencing indicates that its the more infectious "Kent" variant that was recently predicted to become the world's dominant strain this year.

No it does not.
So a healthy immune system ie vitamin B, C, D and zinc will give the same result as the vaccine that isn't really a vaccine?

No it does not.
For clarity and if you specifically need me to say so then no, the vaccine does not prevent one from catching Covid.

I don't see it as a vaccine ,they come as a single jab that protects you for a long period . this so called " vaccine" only seems to protect you from the worst effects of the virus. Then you have to have two jabs which appears to be more of a treatment

So that's what they mean by "The New Normal", where a vaccine isn't a vaccine.....

^ Yes, it's simply (another) flu jab that, based on recent announcements, will probably be with us for years to come and will probably require to be taken in addition to the regular, season flu jab.

Some interesting numbers here, from the UK, total death rates, 2018 - 541,589. 2019 - 530,841. 2020 - 529,928. From Aus 2018 - 158,493. 2019 - 169,301. 2020 to Oct 27 - 116,345. Mmmmm pandemic, something doesn't seem correct, I would have thought the numbers would be x5 at least for 2020??? I just don't know.
