Will deliveries cope
Just a thought , but when the virus really kicks in will grab and food panda be able to cope ?, We're looking at 10's of thousands of people who will use the services . Maybe 5 times the normal volume, got a strange picture of deserted streets except 1000's of delivery bikes, except delivery riders won't be immune from the virus themselves. And the amount of drivers drop ,Or even worse if I gets like Europe they might even stop deliveries . Just a thought

If they stop deliveries the worst case scenario lets us hope we call our friends and neighbours to ask if there is anything we can do to help

A bit of a dilemma really ,to stop the virus you need as little contact as possible with people from the outside. Best suggestion I can think of is stock up on bottled water and mama noodles as an emergency supply. Hopefully they won't be needed. Better safe than sorry,,.,..I hate mama noodles myself ,but better than starving

Watched it yesterday in the town center at one of the busier outlets. A group of around 20 Grab driver all standing in a group blabbering away while waiting on orders to be filled I assume. If the virus really hits up here then they might be the first to go down. Still I think you are still allowed to pick up food yourself. (so far) Its the poor, older and infirm out in the sticks that are going to be hammered the worst. Some old biddies are used to going to the Wat for the daily communal food distribution. Wonder if these are going to stop.papafarang wrote: ↑March 24, 2020, 7:10 amJust a thought , but when the virus really kicks in will grab and food panda be able to cope ?, We're looking at 10's of thousands of people who will use the services . Isn’t there an issue with the virus living on plastics etc anyway? Surely you’re taking bit of a risk having home deliveries too?
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Re: Will deliveries cope
Well, at present there are 4 companies, Grab, Panda, Line Man, Get Food, not sure all the 4 operate in Udon,
and now 7-11 will launch an expanded delivery service. How many do you need ?

Enough to feed about 70,000,000 people daily. Plus as I said ,drivers are not immune to the virus so as it spreads the number of drivers will drop. Plus drivers will become a source of the virus spread. Cardboard boxes and plastic bags a great way to pass it around. It's going to get cranky , lots of strange effects on life here. Stay safe
