covid cases udon
Re: covid cases udon
Niggly, get a new top, this one has no respect for your canal.
I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani
Re: covid cases udon
Right, I’m back after my little dalliance working as an outreach with MenCap on another topic.
What’s this about canals, tops, botty jockeys & DM. Is it related to COVID cases in Udon? Can someone get me up to speed, cheers

You are showing your age if you need someone to come along and tell you what has ben happening. Have you difficulty reading by yourself?

Re: covid cases udon
^^ Not if they've been quietly beetling off back home early after all the warning signs that have been posted over the past few days. This includes the latest government health advisory for those Isaanites who have already visited their villages NOT to return to Bangkok and the 'burbs and "work from home". This should be relatively easy for the car assembly line worker, the canned fish filleter and roadside somtam seller.

Re: covid cases udon
How can they return to BKK if they are in the middle of 14 days quarantine after coming up in the first place?
Re: covid cases udon
There’s a party in the vicinity of Chez Niggles.
I can hear music & faint laughter. Can’t quite determine where it is so they’ve been spared of me crashing it in search of free food so far

Re: covid cases udon
Covid 19 cases now number over 100 in Udon. I rode by the back of the general hospital this morning on my bike and saw about 100 +/- people waiting to be tested. Please be careful.

Oops I stand corrected on the Covid case count. Cumulative totals now stand at 97 cases according to the Udon Thani Health Office.

The Thai government is expected to announce on Friday that 18 provinces will be declared ‘red zones’ and under the highest COVID-19 controls.
Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, said that at a meeting on Thursday Thailand’s National Communicable Diseases Committee (NCDC) has agreed, in principle, to declare 18 provinces as ‘red zones’ and 59 other provinces as ‘orange zones’.
According to Daily News, the provinces to become red zones are:
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Samut Sakhon, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Phuket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nonthaburi, Songkhla, Tak, Udon Thani, Suphanburi, Sa Kaeo, Rayong and Khon Kaen.
All other provinces will be orange zones.
In red zones, restaurants will be allowed to open but must close by 9pm or 11pm in the orange zone.
All other restrictions will largely be the same in either zone, such as schools closed and no alcohol in restaurants, while pubs, bars, karaoke and massage parlours will be closed.
People will be told to refrain from activities that involve large numbers of people and no parties should take place apart from family events (presumably means weddings, monk ordinations and funerals). No activities with more than 50 attendees will be permitted, while amusepark parks and attractions at malls, such as children’s play areas will also need to be closed.
However, according to Daily News, there will be no lockdown, although details regarding provincial travel restrictions will be confirmed on Friday (16 April).

Re: covid cases udon
Apparently last week, there was a case colocated at the Tesco Lotus Express about 250 meters from my house.
But we only ever shop at the Mini Big C next door to it so no need to worry.
