Laptop Batteries Again

Post by Kudjap or Bust » October 15, 2009, 7:40 pm

I need to replace the battery in one of my laptops and so far haven't been able to find the exact one. The original battery is a 10.8v dc, 4000mAh, I can get a 10.8v dc, 4400mAh or 4300mAh, does anyone know if either of these will be OK for the laptop or will they somehow stuff things up?
Thanks for any information

ummm, the voltage and physical fit is the important thing. mAh is just the capacity, and the more the better on that. I'm sure the battery can source/sink at whatever rate the load/charger can handle. You should probably look into getting a battery with a bigger capacity. As long as it is a form fit match, and same voltage. You can look on Ebay for batteries with larger capacities but will fit in your machine. I bought one before with double the capacity/cells of the battery the OEM put in, much better if you really use the machine as a portable instead of just a small desktop.

Thanks rjj, yes this laptop is used when we're on the road travelling. Ebay, where would we be without it, found a correct voltage and fit for our machine but at 4400 mAh and at a decent price with free postage.... Looks like we're about to be back in business soon.

Before I bought the new battery the seller offered me a new 10.8v, 6600 mAh and is 9 cell for the same price. Not being a battery buff will this be OK on my machine?

K or B, is the battery from HK? I bought one recently (free postage) which did not fit correctly into my laptop (Asus F3jP), and I had to return it for refund (which cost me A$13 - from Oz).

The Ebay seller was named "olympic2016".

I think you will find that rjj04 answered the same query fairly well in the first reply.
