Linux problems

Post by petl » May 28, 2019, 10:30 am

My laptop was running on Ubuntu 14.4LTS but recently gave problems (no sound), I tried some suggested fixes but didn't work, tried to upgrade to 16.4, now nothing works, can't even boot. Need help, is there a recommended shop or expert that I can try? Thanks.

Unless you have a lot of data to recover (No Backup), just rip it out and reinstall. I use CentOS 7 and had to do that last month after a failed update.

Have a friend download the latest Ubuntu or Mint Cinnamon version on a USB bootable memory stick. Put the memory stick in your USB port and start the computer. Just follow the instructions from there.
