Not necessarily, john.

I have 2 online spyware detectors (Spybot and Superantispyware), and it detected neither of them.

I have now deleted the program.

its not perfect but ive been running it for two monthes and it helped me keep on top as things as i dont set most of my programs to autoupdate
as i dont wont my desktop clogged up
the reason i do this iam not able to be online every day :( and the bloody updates come all at ounce a bit of a pain sometimes
so if i dont do it the score drops which is way it works for me ;)
ps hows life in the boonies

Thanks john.

I am happy that I have the latest version of Spybot loaded, as well as Superantispyware.

But I am also not particularly interested in the AOL product - I downloaded it out of curiosity, but can live without it full time.

Already enough crap running in the background of my PC

I use Norton Ghost (2003) to make back ups. I keep the Ghost images on a separate partition. If a problem arises that I cannot sort I just Ghost back to a previous image when things were tickety-boo. I also keep an image on an external USB drive to be sure to be sure.
