Went to Dose factory this morning 10am,udonmap ref M18,doors were unlocked but a friendly young chap advised me that they open from 11am until 9.30pm so will try again next week, went to Dose 1 for some snacks and takeaway 8) Young chap also advised closed this thursday, there is one issue about the parking, enough room for a maximum of four cars and only one entrance so ok to park but have to reverse out, need long haired translator to check traffic before putting your car bum out into the road.I did a reverse parking in and even driving out had a car parked close to the entrance so some issues for safely leaving 8)
Dose 1 started with their cheese mousse, has a biscuit base when cutting into, with belgian chocolate mint drink followed by crispy calamari and Penne seafood white wine dish, washed down with free glass of water and a mango passion frappe,my takeaway being their seafood pizza, max 10 in,thin crust 8) There is no linguine today if anyone popping in,a number of other pasta styles available 8)

grievous wrote:I went to Dose today to try out the new venue and food on offer with my wife and friend. The new place is much larger with a similar industrial design. They are looking to fuse together Thai with Japanese and western cooking styles. The stir fried mushrooms, squid ink spaghetti and the pork medallions were lovely. Not sure the correct names of the dishes as we didn't see the menu as we were sampling dishes they served up. We bought a bottle of wine along and didn't have to pay corkage. Apparently they will be selling wine in the future however for the meantime you can byo. Not sure if today was invite only for regulars to provide s bit of feedback on the new food on offer. Dose will definitely be open tomorrow for all.
You lucky fellow, brought my penfolds bin 2 along today and was asked to pay 150 baht corkage, maybe change of policy, maybe my appearance was not up to scratch :yikes:
Reversed parked into one of their four spaces, all taken by the time left, arrived 11am opening time.staff are on hand to help you if reversing out having spoken to the mini manager on duty today, very helpful lass speaks good english and will explain any dishes to you 8)
Menu pages photoed after asking permission, did not do the coffee page as same as Dose 1,chiller unit with cake options to choose from, advised more food options coming to Dose 2 in the next few weeks 8)

150 Baht for corkage is very reasonable and allows people who enjoy good wines, to bring their own.

Food looks rather nice and well presented, nice desert menus, hope the whipped cream isn't out of a spray can.

Im a repeat customer at Dose 1 and enjoy their menu , the service and fusion food there.

Looking forward to visiting Dose 2,

No declared interests

The Ebiko seafood pasta is one of those fusion style dishes that I will try on my next visit, could be the place where the Udon mg owners club have their monthly meets  :D 8)
Try not to sit at one of the tables where their suspended storage racks for their coffee is situated directly above, not one customer while there chose them, thai builders am sure have done a wonderful job there :D

The new Dose should have its own thread as it is not across from Maeya, and among other differences, the food is quite different, excellent in a different way, in an extremely spacious environment. I especially recommend the seafood salad.

Both are great places.

Perhaps RCT one reason is, this is a sponsor thread and as such, wouldn't wish to pay twice ?? 1 Brand name , 2 locations

Maybe the Mods could modify the Thread to show a name like

Dose 1 and 2 Bistros and Restaurants ??

Just a thought

20150909_115034.jpg
20150909_115044.jpg

PS couple of negatives from the menu, both steak items are only 150g in weight so a tad expensive and the hoegarden is for a half pint,no wine options for people like myself but anyways plenty more food options for me to try, glad to see business has picked up there since opening, the menu must be helping a lot 8)
