Any one of you that lives here would know about the Car Passport needed from the Transport Office if you want to drive your vehicle accross the border. A little purple book that gets stamped in and out. From May the 1st this is available from the Transport Office's AEK Hospital branch. 50 baht plus 5 baht tax.

and you need: vehicle ownership book for sure, ID for sure, how about house book??

thanks for the info on this as it has been a bit of a mystery to most folks..

Also, I believe to drive across the bridge legally into Laos you must have Lao liability insurance..

Not sure about any requirements to have an International Driving license in Lao. A fw years ago, the Thai Police were hassling folks driving from Lao saying they had to have an International license while in Thailand..

I would take the Yellow house book just in case you have not transferred your Thai ID number that comes with it, onto your Thai driving licence.
