Looks like it's going to get harder to find woke stuff to poke fun at or get upset about.

If you have a local specific question i still think the forum is about the best place to ask it. Try google/facebook and it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack of results.
Why are the number of posts declining? Older posters do not have as many questions and have been around for years, so know nearly everything they need to know. Also most posters are now older, and new posters rare. I fear that Udon expats are a dying breed.

What we need is a new crop of newbies, Maybe the Indians?

Where did the term 'Bender' come from?

The origin of the term "bender" meaning an extended bout of drinking alcohol is not certain. It appears to have been first mentioned in the mid-1800s. Some think that the meaning of bender came about as a reference to the act of bending one's elbow to take a drink. Others believe it is associated with the phrase "getting bent out of shape."

A girl footballer with suspected autism is facing a ban of up to 12 matches for asking an adult transgender opponent: “Are you a man?”

In the latest case to raise major questions about the Football Association’s ongoing failure to ban those born male from the women’s game, the 17-year-old has been left distraught at being charged by her county FA over a remark made during a match against a trans-inclusive club.

She was charged last month with saying, “Are you a man?”, “That’s a man”, “Don’t come here again”, or similar comments during what was a pre-season friendly back in July.

Two women were removed from a British Airways flight at Heathrow after an altercation reportedly provoked by a Make America Great Again (Maga) cap.

The incident occurred on Saturday as the women, aged 40 and 60, were preparing to board a flight bound for Austin, Texas.

A workplace initiative urging BBC staff to wear the colors of the Palestinian flag and keffiyehs in solidarity with Palestine has sparked division and raised concerns, particularly among Jewish employees. Organized by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) as part of a broader "workplace day of action" for Palestine, the event aims to advocate for a ceasefire, the cessation of violence in Gaza, and the release of hostages. Scheduled for Thursday, the TUC has encouraged participants to visibly demonstrate their support by wearing red, green, black, or the traditional Palestinian keffiyeh.

I'm an old man and see the world going mad. I can't understand men playing in female sports and wannabe men wanting to use woman's restrooms. This woke business and far left lunatic people is simply outrageous and just not right.

Is that the ad that caused a reflexive, right-wing knicker-twist?

FMD, people are just looking for an excuse to be offended these days.

Especially, it seems, multi-billionaires. How woke is that?
