Canadian Slang Word Test

Let's see how well you know Canadian slang. I barely made it as a Canadian with 17/20.

What a bunch of hosers (Canadian slang)! 555+

One has to admit that if you do not live in Hoserland/Moosehead land, some of these are really difficult. Like I said, I missed three, which still makes me a bonafide Canuck.

You got one more than the rest of the foreigners because you are a sociopath, whatever that is.

Last I heard Canada is on the planet Earth, but in a very isolated part of the orb in which contact with other forms of humanoids is virtually nil.

Yes the Pacific Ocean is enormous and your loud southern neighbours make it difficult for others to hear you. We have the same problem with our friends in West New Zealand.

Thirteen correct. I believe they've added some new slang since my last visit, about umpteen years ago.

Since when has "Puck Bunny" been Canadian?

Think of a groupie following a rock star around. A puck bunny is a young lady hoping to get lucky with a hockey player. The puck is the object the opposing players chase around on the ice wanting to put it into the net to score a goal and win the game.

LYM, I'm aware of what a Puck Bunny is (I used the phrase during an interview on British TV many years ago), I was just a little concerned that it should not have been referred to as "Canadian Slang" when in fact it is used all over the world.

As for that "URBAN DICTIONARY" ....... what a load of **************

Furthermore, many of the Canadian players only need to complete high school, if that, to move on to the National Hockey League and million dollar status.

Here are two typical Canadians, Bob and Doug McKenzie, discussing the major topics of the day. By listening carefully you may be able to master the English language as spoken in the Great White North.
