Thursday 4th June 2009
American Tourist fished from the sea by Tourist Police on Walking Street.

In the early hours of Thursday Morning, Pattaya’s Tourist Police Unit based on Walking Street were called to Molly Malone’s Irish Bar located on the street following reports of a foreign man who had walked into the sea behind the bar. Officers arrived and fished-out the American Tourist; Mr. Ronald Gordon aged 22 and took him back to the Tourist Police Mobile Unit. He was in a drunken state and then attacked a Tourist Police Officer and had to be handcuffed. He was taken to Pattaya Police Station and placed behind bars pending further investigation. There is a suggestion that Mr. Gordon had an argument with his Thai Girlfriend earlier in the night and he had been drinking heavily since that time, however that could not be confirmed.

Burghfield Common OAP in Thai jail
By Linda Fort
June 05, 2009

A Burghfield Common pensioner has just been released after spending a month in a Thai jail cell with 70 other prisoners.

David Harris, 62, of Reading Road, was arrested in December after a fight in a bar when a man from Wales suffered a fractured skull.

He was bailed at first but last month he was put in the Pattya Remand Centre and only released when he was able to raise £2,000 bail.

He said: “It was horrendous. Words cannot describe how terrible it was. There were 70 people in the cell with me.

“At night we were lying on top of each other trying to sleep with an elbow in your ear or a foot in your face.”

He said one Thai prisoner was beaten to death for stealing cigarettes and another died of TB.

He said: “The prison is run by the prisoners. The currency is cigarettes and if you don’t have someone on the outside to help you, you would starve to death. The food is completely inedible.

“If you have cigarettes you can exchange them for cakes and other food.”

Mr Harris was kept supplied by an old friend who lives in Thailand and who is helping him fight his case.

He now lives in fear of being picked up by the police again and being sent back to jail.

He said: “You have to carry ID at all times in Thailand and the only ID I have is my passport and the authorities have it. If I had to go back in jail I just wouldn’t. I would kill myself first.”

He went on: “I am innocent but I haven’t made a plea yet. The trouble is that my lawyer tells me that if I plead not guilty and then am found guilty, under Thai law my sentence would be doubled. I could get anything between three months and 10 years.

“Another problem is that if I plead not guilty in November when my case comes to court it could be ages – years maybe – before the case is heard and I would have to stay here. But I want to plead not guilty.”

Mr Harris, who has two sons and a daughter, also fears he has lost his home in Burghfield Common while he has been in Thailand because he has been unable to pay the £10 a week contribution he is supposed to make for the rent.

The dad, who has been holidaying in Thailand since 2004, is currently living in a bar and relying on his pension and friends for financial support.

He said: “I never dreamt going on holiday could end in this kind of nightmare. It is a living hell.”

Wokingham MP John Redwood is taking up Mr Harris’s case with the Foreign Office.

He said: “I shall be contacting the minister David Miliband about Mr Harris. He is out of prison at the moment and we want to ensure that remains the case.”

Saturday 6th June 2009
Truck Driver fatally shot in suspected road-rage incident.

Just after 3am on Saturday, Police Colonel Nopadon, the Chief of Chonburi District Police responded to a call relating to a suspected fatal shooting on the Pattaya-Chonburi Bypass Road. A truck driver who was driving as part of a three truck convoy was fatally shot in the head following what is thought to be a road rage incident. The truck came to a halt following the shooting and the Police were called to inspect the body of Khun Worawoot aged 39 who works for a haulage company from Samut Prakan Province. The other two drivers in the convoy remained at the scene and explained to Police that a Bronze Isuzu Pick-up had pulled up beside the cab of the lead truck which was being driven by the victim. Words were seen to be exchanged and then the driver produced a gun and shot at the victim and then drove off. Police suspect the shooting was not pre-planned and believe that the truck was involved in a near accident moments earlier with the pick-up. Police are investigating.

FORLORN PATTAYA BAR-GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE

http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownew ... 0000009403

A Pattaya bar-girl, distraught after having been abandoned by her Middle Eastern boyfriend, apparently decided, on June 4, 2009, she had no other option but to commit suicide. Pol. Col. Teerapol Jindaloung, of the Pattaya Constabulary, was notified of the apparent suicide at 9.20 am and sent a team and paramedics to investigate.

The bar-girl, Miss Piyawan Maneekul, 34, from Surin, was found lying on the floor of her room in Kong Dee Apartments, Soi Yensabai, South Pattaya. She was still alive, but literally covered in blood from a deep incision in her neck, so severe that her windpipe was exposed. She had also apparently ingested half a bottle of toilet cleaning fluid earlier, the residue from which was evident around and running out off her mouth. The paramedic team rushed her to Banglamung Hospital, but she died en route from her injuries.

The police officers questioned Mrs. Bung-On Kotyotha, 27, from Petchaboon, the victim’s neighbour, and were informed that Miss Piyawan, who worked in a beer bar in the area of South Pattaya favoured by Arabs from the Middle-East, had recently split up with her Arab boyfriend and had since suffered from deep depression, so much so she had threatened to commit suicide if he did not return to her. She had been receiving psychiatric help in Chonburi.

On the day the incident occurred, Miss Piyawan was in an extremely stressed-out condition. She had gone to stand in the middle of the road and screamed that she wanted to die, after which she went to sit in front of a hotel near the apartment. She told passersby that she was waiting for her boyfriend, but the hotel security had told her to leave the hotel.

Miss Piyawan then returned to her room, accompanied by her neighbour, Mrs. Bung-On, who tried to calm her down. Mrs. Bung-On said she was loathe to go to work and leave her alone, but while she was watching TV, Miss Piyawan slipped out of the room, went to the toilet and drank almost a whole bottle of toilet cleaning liquid, after which she and grabbed a meat cleaver, slashed her neck and collapsed on the floor. Still conscious, she kept repeating she wanted to die. Mrs. Bung-On then rushed to inform the police. The victim, though attended by paramedics, unfortunately died on her way to hospital.

Police will investigate the case further and inform her relatives accordingly.

GIRL SERIOUSLY STABBED IN FIGHT BETWEEN TWO BAR WORKERS IN PATTAYA BEER BAR

http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownew ... 0000009422

At 5:00 am. on the 6th June 2009 police were called to the Chicky Bar in Soi 8, central Pattaya, where a bar girl had been stabbed and seriously injured during a fight with another bar girl.

Pattaya police investigator Police Lieutenant Colonel Rengwit Rakchat had dispatched a team to the bar located at 217 /11-12, Soi 8, Pattaya Second Road, Nongprue, Banglamung where they found Miss Darunee Keawprom [37], who had been stabbed in her left eyebrow area, over her chest, under her chest and in her left arm. Her wounds were serious and bleeding profusely and the floor area was covered in blood. Her friends and customers at the bar were helping her and took her to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

The female attacker, Miss Suneeporn Toomtieng [32], from Nakornpratom province, who worked at the same bar was arrested with a one-foot-long knife, covered in bloodstains which police took as evidence.

Miss Suneeporn, who was in a drunken state, told police that she and Miss Darunee had been good friends before, but their relationship had deteriorated. They stopped speaking to each other for long periods and they were often fighting each other.

On the day of incident, she said, they had a verbal fight, and Miss Darunee slapped her and hit her head with a beer bottle causing her injury to her forehead. Miss Suneeporn said she went to report the incident at the Pattaya police station.

When she returned to the bar, Miss Darunee was even more angry and continued to shout abuse at her. She couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to fight back. She pulled out a knife, which she confessed she had prepared, but at the moment she stabbed Miss Darunee, she said she did it to protect herself.

Miss Darunee was detained and taken to the police station for further investigation. Police confirmed she would be charged with assault.

Skeletal remains washed-up on beach in Na-Jomtien.

Early on Monday Morning, Police Lieutenant Supawat from Na-Jomtien Police Station was called to an area of beach behind the Dor-Shada Resort located in Na-Jomtien to investigate reports of skeletal remains which had apparently been washed up on the beach. Police and local rescue services arrived and inspected the remains which included a pelvic bone with its two femur bones still attached. A pair of red underpants was also over the pelvic bone indicating the brand name “J Press” which is a Thai Brand who only distribute to the domestic market which lead Police to believe that the remains are those of a Thai, however any formal identification is not possible at this time and because of the large size of the bones recovered, the remains could well belong to a foreigner. One theory is that the remains may be that of dive-master Khun Wiwat, who went missing off the coast of Sattahip last month. Police are now sifting through missing person’s reports as they attempt to identify the remains.

PATTAYA - GERMAN MAN DIES CHOKING ON FALSE TEETH IN SOI 6 BEER BAR

http://pattayadailynews.com/shownews.ph ... 0000009449
In the afternoon of 10th June 2009 Pattaya police were notified that a foreign man had died in a room at the Lucky Love beer bar in Soi 6, North Pattaya.

Police Major Wittaya Yuenyong was notified at 4:30 pm and despatched a police and rescue team to the bar located 437/ 102 ,Pattaya Soi 6 ,Pattaya Beach Road,Nongprue.

At the three storey building which has 6 rooms for rent on the second and the third floor with a bar on the ground floor, police found the dead body of the man in a room on the second floor. The dead man was identified as Mr. Klaus Peter Rudole J.Unger [69], a German national. He was lying on a bed wearing only underpants. The police also found some false teeth, a wallet and cream color shorts placed on the bed. The police found no signs of foul play and estimated he had been dead for about one hour.

Miss Kanittha Noothong, [24], the bar owner, told police that Mr. Unger walked into the bar and asked for a bottle of water. He complained that he had difficulty breathing. She then took him to the room upstairs so he could rest and summoned an ambulance from the Pattaya International Hospital.

In the time it took the ambulance to arrive, Mr.Unger was suffering from severe convulsions. She said she and the bar staff did not know what to do except to wait for the doctor.

When the doctor arrived, they immediately examined the man and found his false teeth had stuck in his throat. These were removed and his heart was pumped in an effort to revive him but unfortunately the man did not survive.

The police will carry out further investigations to ascertain the real cause of death and his body will be sent for autopsy. The embassy and his relative will be informed accordingly.

1 dead, 2 injured after teen motorbike gang attacks Sattahip youths

Patcharapol Panrak
A well-known teenage motorbike gang is believed responsible for last month’s shooting death of an insurance broker and injuries to two others in an early-morning ambush in Sattahip.
Theeradet Chamapakpimol, 21, was found lying dead in on Third Road near Sukhumvit Road 25 in Sattahip around 2:45 a.m. May 31, his motorbike helmet still on. An insurance broker at Siam Commercial New York Life Insurance Co., he had been shot once in the back.
Two others, Royal Thai Navy Petty Officer Ekarin Ruang-Aram, 25, and 18-year-old Aksorn Technology School student Pakorn “Tong” Khunthongpan suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder and leg, respectively, and were treated at an individual Hospital.
Sattahip Police Superintendent Col. Somchai Suntawanik said the assailants are believed to be a group of teen gang members living in the Najomtien neighborhood in Sattahip. They’re responsible for several crimes in which they follow cars and motorbikes late in the evening, he said.
Sanhanat Charoenporn, 17, one of 14 youths riding back to Sattahip after a night out in Pattaya, said his group encountered six teens on three motorbikes when passing Sattahip Technology College in Najomtien. He admitted being disturbed by the new riding companions, but no problems ensued until the 10 bikes reached Thepprasit Temple when the new group fired shots into the air to threaten them.
The assailants then turned off their lights and pursued them, Sanhanat said. The attackers overtook the 14 teens and a long-haired pursuer riding a black Honda Wave 125 with orange wheels and no license plate shot at the returning revelers until one was dead and two others injured.

Transvestites steal wallet, but lose motorcycle
pattaya today

Posted by admin / 2009-06-18

AS Mr. Hossin Fartash, aged 48, an Iranian national, was making his way back to his
Transvestites steal wallet, but lose motorcycle
hotel, close to the, ‘Made in Thailand Market’ on 2nd Road, he was accosted by 2 transvestites, who jumping off their parked motorcycle, offered him a whirlwind romance session in exchange for a little ‘green back’.

His rejection of their advances did not stop them throwing their arms around him and acting in a suggestive manor. He managed to disentangle himself, but almost immediately, realised that his wallet, containing $700, approximately 23,000 baht was missing. He shouted for assistance from passersby, which spooked the transvestites, forcing them to flee the scene, without their motorcycle.

Arriving on the scene, a still much shaken Mr. Fatash explained what had happened and gave a description of the two assailants. Police radioed a description to other officers in the area, but to no avail. However, police have confiscated the motorcycle which they believe will quickly lead to the identity of the two robbers.
