I am Westerby, I just meant that I've seen 5-6 Thais (sometimes more) pounding away on some
drunken tourist a few times already, and it makes you nauseous. And, even though I try very hard
to be polite and civil and rarely even drink, I've been in scrapes here but probably just by dumb luck
the thais gave away all their normal advantages (1) not having overwhelming numbers (2) I was
stone-cold sober (3) it wasn't premeditated and they'd not weapons (4) lost surprise/ambush factor
It's just the way the tourist areas are anymore, everyone is in your face, sometimes being incredibly
obnoxious, all talking trash because they think you don't understand. And their courage is bolstered
by the fact their usually surrounded by a small group of their associates. just being bullies in number.
I desperately try to avoid conflict here, but if you can't avoid it, better prepare to fight like them. :(

By that I mean don't get in a fight with them when 5-6 are about? Wait until they're alone if
one of them is giving you a bunch of grief? eliminate all the advantages that make them so
cocky and bold? i'm only 160lbs and i've yet to meet one that wanted a piece of me then. when
they realize you can be as sneaky and dangerous as them, they stop all that sh_t talking fast. :-$
AND if one of them jumps you, remember if you don't fight you'll end-up getting kicked on the floor.

I have also known mates who have been knocked out before they hit the floor and because they cannot put there hands out to to ease the fall they have cracked there head had an embolism and died.
Thats happened to a 'mate' or 'mates' vlad...how many.? pretty unlucky if more than 1 i would say.
And i don't think anyone is saying its ok/fair that he got kicked when he was down and out, it was the main hit that took him down and that should of been well enough to teach him a lesson after what he did bring on himself after all...
maybe he would not be so dumb next time.Image

My only point and the reason I'm being vocal here is that it's not always "the horrible drunken
foreigner" versus "the noble-hearted Thai". (3) times already I've had to defend myself against
a whiskeyed-up young Thai-male more than likely high on yaba. Twice, I was very fortunate to
get the person in a simple submission hold and the crowd realized I was not the aggressor and
escorted the person away (even though they did strike me first and should have been charged? ).
The third time I had to fight it out, and let me tell you, I'm a worn-out , slightly built 44 year-old
who doesn't want to fight anybody. I won that one also but it hurt me, a lot. When the thai male
regained conciousness, again he was simply allowed to walk away. no police no charges nothing.
especially in the tourist areas you have to be so very careful because they're not all good people. :(

I think it's a good idea to remember that we only saw the end result of this guys night out. There is every chance he was primed for this video, got him drunk deliberately and then screwed him to get him to amp up, would not be surprised if they were all so brave because the falang in the back ground was there backup. There's a lot of Falang scum in Thailand, so I wouldn't write it off !!

wonder if the video will reach TV shows that play 'mishap' video footage...could be worth some cash.

yes its happened 3 times now beer 1 was a good mate of mine in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other 2 were lads who were having a fisticuff that got out of hand. When i was young you got knocked knocked down and that was it no cheap shots deff no kicking you if you couldn't defend yourself. And later a friend i know hit a guy in a working mens club he went down, out before he hit the floor banged his head on the snooker table never woke up guy did 10 years for manslaughter. Im an ex rugby league player beer who can still look after himself but we are taught controlled aggrestion on the pitch diff story. Your opponent will let you know he is there with a crafty punch on the blind side and if you dont respond he will do it all game. Even if he is a big monster forward let him know you wont take a step back its mutual respect after the game all handshakes and blackeyes. But even now i would never get into a situation when im in thailand because of the tactics the thais use and dont let there size fool you.
