Wrongly accused US Navy vet freed from Thai prison

Post by Charlieb » October 10, 2019, 9:45 am

Weird story. First, charged with bogus charge, then detained for about a year. One of very few farangs to ever be found innocent in a Thai court.

Then, after court found him innocent, he was charged with overstaying his visa. :D Pray tell how does one update the visa while in jail?

yes, weird story. why have to mentioned he is a "navy vet" as if that makes him a person less likely to commit crimes?
No, it was not a bogus charge. He appeared in a video of an organisation scamming investors in Thailand and other Asian countries. So he seemed to be actively involved scamming ppl. That's not a bogus charge and lets be grateful the Thais dont take it lightly when ppl scam other ppl including farangs.
Most likely the guy is guilty like hell but was found not guilty for political reasons. Dont want to give the Red Haired Clown a reason to trash the country?

He was an actor appearing in company commercials. He had nothing to do with the company itself. That is why the Thai court acquitted him.

" During questioning, Keelor told officers that he was an actor working in China, and was hired by a Singaporean to be Executive Director of Eagle Gates Group Co Ltd in order to build credibility and reputation for the company. "

This fine gentleman pretended to be the Executive Director of the company. He should have known better when somebody asks him to pretend to be a hot shot of a company. "i didnt do / know nuttin' " doesnt apply here.
