It seems that Russia Today (RT), a favourite source for one of our most prolific correspondents, had no hesitation in joining with other Russian propaganda sites in placing the blame for the Moscow terror attack on Ukraine.

https://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/media ... /103647366 (about 1.26m in, although the entire 3+ minutes are worth watching).
Good stuff, thanks. Snappy, salient, thought provoking, etc., etc..

It's a pity that the Putin, the Kremlin, RT and the rest of Russia can't come up with anything more omigod-ish but we're all agreed they're the wanton aggressors, marching to their own, totally unqualified sense of superiority.

Has Thailand's brand new PM made any similar moves yet? If not, is it only a matter of time?

The preliminary results from Georgia's pivotal parliamentary election keeps them onside with Medvedev's overarching desires.

Definitely one to watch.

Georgia election descends into chaos with both sides claiming victory. Two exit polls show pro-Western alliance majority while a third declares a comfortable victory for ruling party.

A Russian court has fined Google two undecillion roubles - a two followed by 36 zeroes - for restricting Russian state media channels on YouTube.
In dollar terms that means the tech giant has been told to pay $20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.

That'll teach 'em.

Putin must be looking to build a bigger palace - perhaps in Crimea.

Watched some video on BBC news that shows Russian drones dropping grenades on civilians and cars in Kherson. The video in the link has been edited for graphic content but the story on BBC news online retains it.

Putin's European "Trojan Horse" takes shape.

Under the proposed scheme – one of several being considered – gas from Gazprom, Moscow’s gas giant, would be rebranded as Azerbaijani, with equivalent volumes of Baku’s gas labelled as Russian.

The scheme would mean that European companies could sign contracts with Azerbaijan for Russian gas, but wouldn’t have to deal with Russians.

The tit-for-tat is escalating quite nicely.

Biden permits the use of American long-range missiles, Zelenskiyy obliges so Putin broadens and lowers the threshold for nuclear engagement. Then Biden approves anti-personnel mines so Putin fires something so similar to an ICBM at Ukraine, it's not funny. Starmer then sticks his oar in the water and approves the use of British long range rocketry and Zelenskiyy obliges again. Accordingly, Putin suggests that the missile manufacturing plants in the US and UK are now legitimate targets.

Better get your Dear Santa letters in early.

Mystery drones have been spotted following a British aircraft carrier at sea after unmanned aerial vehicles were seen hovering over three air bases in England.
An unidentified 1.5 by 1.5 metre drone appeared to tail the Royal Navy flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth as it entered the port of Hamburg, Germany, on Friday.
The German military positioned guards around the port and attempted to target the drone with HP-47 jammers before it flew away, German newspaper Bild reported.
The US Air Force (USAF) also revealed on Saturday that “small unmanned aerial systems” flew over RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, as well as RAF Feltwell in Norfolk last week.
USAF, which uses the bases, said the size and number of drones overhead had fluctuated.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said it would not comment on security procedures.
While it is unclear whether the drones were hostile, the incidents occurred during a week that saw significant escalation of hostilities between the West and Russia over the war in Ukraine.

This is a well-presented (and superbly translated and narrated) opinion by someone who probably knows loads more about the Ukraine conflict and the Russian motivation than most.

Only 54 minutes.
