ClimateChange - EndTime 2050 - Disturbing Report Sheds Light on
Re: ClimateChange - EndTime 2050 - Disturbing Report Sheds Light on
I suspect that most people know enough history to be aware of the fact that in warmer times than these the northern parts of Europe the people's lives were better because the warmer climate and longer growing season provided larger and more varied crops. Greenland in particular is an illustrative example as the Vikings settled there and their farming and livestock thrived. When the hundreds of years of the normal warming cycle ended with what is called The Little Ice Age their crops could not withstand the colder weather and their animals had insufficient sources of feed. The Vikings disappeared as they died of starvation or abandoned Greenland. Europe experienced the same period of hundreds of years of abundance under the warmer climate. Read a few stories about The Little Ice Age and understand that it was one of continuing cycles of global cooling.
My point is that there have been warmer times than these in which food and other flourished to a greater degree and the people globally lived improved lives because of it. There are many other improvements that people enjoy because of a warming trend. A good harbor in Canada which was unusable in the past because of the presence of ice has recently become usable as the ice has dimished. Russia and the northern European states in particular will enjoy greater prosperity as the climate warms.
Is it too warm in the UK now? Are grapes being grown in the UK as was common before the Little Ice Age? Hardly. I read that the UK suffers greatly from cold weather.

Finally, scientists are starting to say they were wrong about climate change.

well, the author of the article is Eugene Linden. He is a writer not a scientist.

Been saying that since 1970Climate Change - EndTime 2050
later on was verified by a BBC doc which was strangely pulled and never repeated, even in its files.
figured if I lived til 2020 would see if I was right. It's 2019 and am no longer waiting, for what I was expecting in 2020, happened in 2019, and it will be downhill from here. Gives New meaning to "Hell On Earth" one could say.

The Planet that we live on is always evolving. Why do you think we find fossils of sea animals in the middle of present day deserts. What/how can we change the way the Planet is going to evolve over the next 2/3 hundred years. How can we stop the CO2 levels that happen due to Californian,African or Australian bush fires. One or two volcano's erupt and we are in the poo. What's going to happen after the San Andreas fault line decides its time to move. We don't need massive expensive conferences from theorists, we need preparation for when it will inevitably happen, and it will.

ClearlyIf anyone tells you, "This is part of a normal cycle" or "We’ve had fires like this before", smile politely and walk away, because they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Predictably, it is the same people who are blind to climate change as are blind to Trump.
Not just on this forum - you can include the troglodyte Australian prime minister in that coterie.

Yes, I haven't forgotten he once had a piece of coal with him in the Aussie parliament. The Deputy PM is perhaps even more of a dinosaur on climate issues.

Mother Earth has been going through cycles for millions of years. I'm not saying that man hasn't affected the earth, but no matter how much money, using various scams, is thrown at what is perceived to be the problem, nothing is going to change. What will be will be.

I live in Loei province. I find it interesting that many rock formations here have marine fossils. How did that happen?

I think in the future we will look back and find that it was an alarmist idea of climate change due to man and his use of fosile fuels.it will probably be know as the great eco scam of the century.

Hes not likely to say that if Venices flood gates had been built instead of the money being diverted into peoples pockets , this would never happen , would he ?
Whilst i agree that climate change is a real problem , that needs sorting .
Im also sick and tired of every freak weather incident being blamed on climate change .
Cuz its just not always the case . It just make the real problem , less believable .
Climate change is real , but cannot , and should not be blamed for every single storm , flood or drought .

Greenland is losing ice seven times faster than it was in the 1990s.
The assessment comes from an international team of polar scientists who've reviewed all the satellite observations over a 26-year period.
They say Greenland's contribution to sea-level rise is currently tracking what had been regarded as a pessimistic projection of the future.
It means an additional 7cm of ocean rise could now be expected by the end of the century from Greenland alone.
This threatens to put many millions more people in low-lying coastal regions at risk of flooding.
It's estimated roughly a billion live today less than 10m above current high-tide lines, including 250 million below 1m.
"Storms, if they happen against a baseline of higher seas - they will break flood defences," said Prof Andy Shepherd, of Leeds University.
"The simple formula is that around the planet, six million people are brought into a flooding situation for every centimetre of sea-level rise. So, when you hear about a centimetre rise, it does have impacts," he told BBC News.
