I think the fact that the Iranians are not releasing the 'black box' flight recorder speaks for itself.

It also confirmed that both of the black boxes that contain data and cockpit communications had been recovered, though they had been damaged and some parts of their memory was lost.

I Thought they were SUPPOSED to be INDESTRUCTABLE ???

Boeing stock is up. President Trump says he doesn't believe the plane went down due to mechanical issues think what you want of the President if anyone outside of the Iranians know what happened to the plane it would be him.

This "President" knows everything and absolutely nothing. Unfortunately there is a group of individuals who will believe anything he says, no matter how many times he changes his story on any given situation.

It was all over the news before Trump even said anything. In fact it was Justin Trudeau who I first read a couple of days ago who didn't believe it was an accident.

Looks like Boeing dodged a bullet, but not a missile. Who will now be responsible for compensating the families of the killed?

Aircraft engines do not blow up. Of course they can be blown up from an outside source 1.e a missile. The worst that can happen in everyday operations is known as 'an uncontained engine failure' and occur rarely. There are some graphic photos of a Southwest Airlines B737-800 ( same model as the Ukranian A/C )which suffered an uncontained engine failure 2 years ago. Despite the engine wrecked and fan blades piercing the cabin fuselage, the A/C was able to make a safe emergency landing, the only fatality was a passenger sucked out of her seat .

Accidents can and do happen. Those people commanding the Iranian missile defense systems are very nervous and they believe it is better to shoot first and ask questions later.

Until the cockpit VR and FDR boxes are hear'd no one will know. I know some aircrash disasters have been so sudden the pilots did not have time to talk to ground staff because they were concentrating so much to save lives and there aircraft.

Trump making the world a safer place , apparently not. Actions have consequences. This can't be put down to America , this is down to one man's ego. Yes it does look like one nervous guy pushed the button.guess all the threats of disproportionate action didn't help. I can't believe they let it take off in the first place
