Daily Telegraph

Post by Chuchi » September 6, 2020, 9:38 am

For those who are interested they’ve dropped the pay wall this weekend due to the actions of the Extinction Rebellion on Friday.

The Telegraph: Free to read
On Friday night, a group of extremists from Extinction Rebellion blockaded the printing plants where The Telegraph and other titles are produced.

Production of those newspapers was severely affected and many of our loyal readers were denied the opportunity to read the fine journalism that we produced.

Therefore we have made the decision that all Telegraph journalism published this weekend is now free to read on our website until Monday morning - and we have removed the paywall until then.

This magnanimity is simply breathtaking, eh? Now on your knees in supplication to the great and benevolent god Rupert Murdoch.

Meanwhile, other papers not owned and manipulated by News Corp are STILL all free.

And then there is The Guardian begging for pennies to keep it afloat: 'Support our journalism with a contribution of any size. Your support helps protect the Guardian’s independence and it means we can keep delivering quality journalism that’s open for everyone around the world. Every contribution, however big or small, is so valuable for our future.

Well, it is not as dangerous, ridiculous or as extreme in the propaganda department as Mao's Little Red Guards.

What a rubbish comparison.

Yes, the Guardian ASKS for your support but it's NOT obligatory to pay regardless if it's news, opinion or just a bloody recipe you're interested in.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph paywalls EVERYTHING. Do subscribers get a personal thankyou note from Rupert at Christmas? Like, "Thanks for keeping us afloat."?

Are you confusing your Daily Telegraphs?

Rupert owns the execrable rag in Sydney, which is not the subject of the OP.

Yes, I am confusing them. He owns The Sun and The Times in the UK, Oops...

But I refuse to pull my head out of my own arse just because of this fundamental error.

The paywall has returned on my Android. Enjoyed some interesting political articles , saved me scouring the internet for the full versions. You can enjoy 3 months subscription for £1, might have to start a crowdfund.

You don't have to read Chinese to take a gander at Mao's Little Red Book in English or to bone up on The Great Leap Forward and The Cultural Revolution...weakest analysis of the day.
