The word used was "paused" production", not "ceased" production.
Honda pauses production after UK port woes

Japanese carmaker Honda has warned that production at its Swindon plant will be disrupted, after transport problems caused a shortage of parts.

Honda will be closing its factory in Swindon in July next year, a date that has been "set in stone".

In the meantime, they should fire their Procurement and Logistics Manager.

Where were they citing CV has anything to do with this when the official announcement was made in February 2019. Were the Japanese able to predict the future?
Honda confirms Swindon car plant closure

19 February 2019

Honda Europe boss Ian Howells says the decision to close Swindon was driven by big changes in the car industry
Honda has confirmed it will close its Swindon car plant in 2021, with the loss of about 3,500 jobs.
The Japanese company builds 160,000 Honda Civics a year in Swindon, its only car factory in the EU.
Honda said the move was due to global changes in the car industry and the need to launch electric vehicles, and it had nothing to do with Brexit.
Business Secretary Greg Clark said the decision was "devastating" for Swindon and the UK.
A fall in demand for diesel cars and tougher emissions regulations have shaken up the car industry.
Ian Howells, senior vice-president for Honda in Europe, told the BBC: "We're seeing unprecedented change in the industry on a global scale. We have to move very swiftly to electrification of our vehicles because of demand of our customers and legislation.
"This is not a Brexit-related issue for us, it's being made on the global-related changes I've spoken about.
"We've always seen Brexit as something we'll get through, but these changes globally are something we will have to respond to. We deeply regret the impact it will have on the Swindon community."

Mr Howells said that, in the light of changes in the industry, the company had to "look very closely" at where it was putting its investment.
The company sells many more vehicles in North America, Japan and China than it does in Europe.
"It has to be in a marketplace of a size for Honda, where it makes investment worthwhile.
"The conclusion coming out of that is that that doesn't include Swindon - the relative size of the marketplace in Europe is significantly different."
Honda said it would begin consulting immediately about the proposed closure with potentially affected employees.
A union source told the BBC that Honda had sent the workforce at its Swindon factory home for the day.
Honda also announced it would stop making the Civic at its plant in Turkey in 2021. Its European HQ will continue to be located in the UK after the changes.
Earlier this month, Nissan switched plans to build its X-Trail SUV from the UK to Japan.

Honda cars are reliable, they overcame their bodywork problems, and their engines were a godsend to Rovers when they were installed in some Rover models so much better than BL rubbish.
Their loss was predicted and known about CV just possibly hastened the act. Brexit maybe a concern, but hell ships do not need to dock in Europe, they can sail directly to the UK , I think

Across the world
Jap-Fest is an annual Japanese car show in Ireland.[13] In 1970, the Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada opened the "Jungle Jap" boutique in Paris.[14]

Neutral sign advertising "Jap Rice" in Singapore
In Singapore[15] and Hong Kong,[16] the term is used freely as a contraction of the adjective "Japanese" rather than as a derogatory term. The Australian news service Asia Pulse has also used the term in 2008.[1

Niggly you called have said nipponese instead
The Japanese call themselves “Nihonjin” and their language as “Nihongo”. Japan is called “Nihon” by the locals which can be literally translated into “The Land of the Rising Sun”. Due to many phonological changes, Nihon is written as Nippon. Nihon and Nippon are still the most popular names of Japan.

Yes, who’d have thought abbreviating the first few letters of a nationality would be classed as derogatory. I’ve learned a new way how to be offended by something today

indeed i recall seeing the term Jap used openly without being deemed derogatory .. much the same as Brit is used ..alas in todays crazy woke snowflake society it appears even father Christmas having to be renamed as "no fixed gender" Christmas ...emmm doesnt have the same ring to it does it ??

I follow a very popular, well subcribed youtube channel by Alex Belfield The voice of reason , excellent viewing and he brings all the crazy titbits that the far left box tickers class as their "agenda"... most recently Princ Harry n Megan Marlarky (and Lewis Hamilton) preaching to the world how to save the planet whilst having a home with 16 bathrooms and a private jet ... Mr Belfield specializes in outting hypocrites and he does it very successfully.

Back to Honda ..ive always thought of the cars as crap as recall the rust bucket years which seem to be over ... whilst the motorbikes are excellent .

DM .. or should that be Moderately under the influence Monkey

Strange one as Nips is class as derogatory whilst Jap isnt ??? Jap is just the first 3 letters of the full form .. nips is short form for nipple isnt it ? ..

This size doesnt fit all ... as the short form of Chinese isnt Chin ..and if you add a K on the end it becomes derogatory, good job the Ozzies dont give a toss.

Krauts n Frogs most certainly should not be used and apologies to any French or German members only posting as an example.

Not only with regard to nationalities .. Homosexual is a correct term to use where as the short form Homo isnt exceptable so how to work that one out ???

DM just saying no offence intended.

Maybe the Japanese turn a blind eye to 'Jap' as a pejorative since they don't ever call themselves Japanese whereas 'Nip' is seen as pejorative since they prefer to be called Nippon?

Had a few 'nips' in the bamboo gazebo last night. Pictures at 10...

Indeed whilst i was searching the net for ancient tribal Japanese needle craft examples up popped up some disgusting Japanese porn movie , very pretty young lady , alas even tho pixelated she needed a bic razor for Christmas n a comprehensive trim downstairs ..

Suffice to say i have now put the needle craft site in my favourites so i wont be subjected to this pixelation any longer.

As long ago as the 14th century Japanese tapestry were very erotic .. but only the hunky warriors had beards in them days.

Back to the Honda brand .. the Wave has to be their best seller.
