The fragility of the CCP.

Li Jiaqi: Chinese influencer’s career hangs in balance after ‘tank cake’ stream

'Since the incident, Li has not been posting on his normally active social media account. Chinese entertainment insiders said that an inter-company investigation is underway to determine what had happened – who made the cake, and whether its appearance was a mere coincidence or an intentional act.'

China losing, US gaining crucial ground in Thailand

Thai-China relations are in quiet but certain decline while US reaffirms its strategic and economic commitment to the kingdom

'The root of Thailand’s emerging disconnect with China is the unbuilt train, which has been on Bangkok’s drawing board for over a decade but beyond a few symbolic shovelfuls to please Beijing has made scant progress in actually connecting to the Lao border.

Privately, Thai officials say they are concerned the BRI link would balloon the kingdom’s already high and rising trade deficit with China, which has surged by nearly 50% during the pandemic. The officials have also looked on warily as China has taken control of key strategic assets in Laos in debt-equity swap settlement of delinquent train loan payments. ...'

Until Thailand commits to the onward portion of China's belt and (rail)road initiative, the Lao construction has been described as a bit of a white elephant. Quite apropos in Lan Xang?

Chinese youth lying flat and letting it rot:

The youtube poster summarizes the video:
Recently, the term "bai lan " or “let it rot” has become popular among young people in China. Prior to this trend, it was “tang ping” or “lying flat.” On the Chinese social media platform Weibo, topics related to "bai lan" have generated hundreds of millions of reads and discussions since March 2022.

Frustrated by the growing uncertainty and lack of economic opportunities, young Chinese are resorting to this new buzzword, bai lan, to express their attitude toward life.

It means voluntarily giving up the pursuit of life goals because they realize that they are simply unattainable. "Someone has to be a loser. Why not me?" It has become the iconic slogan of the "waste" group. Similar Chinese expressions include "to smash a cracked pot"or "dead pigs are not afraid of boiling water."

Emperor Xi must be pulling his hair out. The "ardent youth" are deserting. Next, they'll be revolting. When I worked there, the only way to move up was to become a card carrying member of the CCP. I wonder what those "enlistment" figures look like.

If the legions of dull and indolent youth are growing, maybe China also needs a war to use them up?

A little old lady visits Taiwan for a few hours and "Pooh Bear" kicks off for a week.

"Just minutes after Pelosi's arrival was confirmed, China's largest state-run news agency, Xinhua, announced that live-fire military drills would be held in the airspace and waters surrounding and close to Taiwan from Thursday to Sunday."

There are so.many technologies gathering personal data that the law has not caught up with adequate protection for consumers.

Tic Tok is regarded as the greatest offender but Facebook, Google and many other social media giants also harvest an enormous amount of data.

There is a lot of evidence that the CCP is behind a lot of this.

Other examples are not publicised much.

1. I bought an inexpensive phone on Ebay a few years ago I found it had malware pre installed as a service on the phone that was tracking my personal usage and location and had a devil of a time removing it.

2. Security camera made in China have been found to contain software that opens a port to transmit captured data. As a result all Chinese cameras in Australian government sites were replaced a few years ago.

3. A major motherboard vendor in the USA had its boards manufactured in China. They soon discovered an extra chip had been added to the board, they determined it was software enabled.

4. Huawai litter their products including their 5G networks with spyware. Discovered by the French a few years ago, the company's network systems are banned in several countries. I would never by one of their phones or tablets

Papa, if you used Chrome, by entering in search bar at top, by default you are using the Google search engine unless you have changed Chrome settings to use a different search engine. You could change to duck duck go and it will no longer track you. See you at lunch today if you want me to show you how to do this

If you want to increase your privacy, try the Brave Browser with the Brave search engine.

This interview with Dr. Robert Epstein was an eye opener: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4q0cNkAHQQMBTu4NmeNW7E Brave is mentioned ~8:30. DuckDuckGo mentioned at ~30:50. The guy is a bit of a Nerd so less articulate than other public speakers but well worth giving a listen.

Many, nearly all, search engines use Google's White, Black and quarantine lists which are reflected in search results or lack of results which has immense implications in steering fence sitters in all areas of interest.

Here is an article from mid 2016: https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles ... -regulated which describes those Google lists a bit more.

Google is most definitely doing evil things (see ~39:00 in the first link of the Spotify interview) but most people are willing to give up their privacy for the convenience and what look to be good search results.

This little ~8 min video is a bit frightening regarding how Google thinks/acts:

Little trouble in big China.
No word from China on Xi military coup whispers.
Media reports from India last night claimed China President Xi Jinping is under house arrest after a military coup.
Business Today reported that two former CCP ministers were sentenced to death while four other officials were jailed for life in China last week.
The six were allegedly part of a political faction opposing Xi. This gives a strong indication the Chinese President is still in charge.
Time will tell if the rumours are true or not.

Interesting rumour. I would have expected a media blackout and reports of the army being deployed on the streets to accompany any coup. As Mak said we will wait and see, my guess, this is speculation given no more proof than social media spreading news virally

Is Peter Strzok moonlighting on social media spreading this misinformation. The next round of ‘news’ released will surely implicate DT as the architect .

Seems like not everyone in China is happy with Chairman/Dictator Xi's antics.
