500,000 free flights to Hong Kong!!! Does this sound like a great deal or what? Is there a catch? Anyway, I like the sounds of this offer.

What??? That is like saying Toronto is Canada, Buffalo is the U.S.A., Udon Thani is Thailand. A lot more goes into China than just Hong Kong, Doodoo.
Hope this helps,

What does this article have to say about catching covid. It seems to be more about lifting covid restrictions, Doodoo.Doodoo wrote: ↑February 3, 2023, 6:50 pmFree Flights along with catching Covid? I think this fella will stay at home for now

Hong Kong may hold fragrant memories for the OP.

A bridge too far I reckon.
I'll certainly be looking into it when the details come out.

Canada is extending its COVID-19 testing requirements for travellers from China, Hong Kong and Macau for another two months, the federal government announced Thursday, pointing to a continued spike in infections and limited data sharing.

Re: Free Flights to Hong Kong
Op citThe announcement came a day after Mr Lee unveiled a tourism campaign aimed at attracting tourists to Hong Kong that includes 500,000 free air tickets for people to visit the semi-autonomous Chinese city.
Not the same Mr Lee who used to run Udon Map, I hasten to add, but 500,000 tickets to fly from where and does it include return? Could I fly from a London airport on a direct flight into the Colony?

https://www.timeout.com/hong-kong/news/ ... omy-020223The 500,000 airline tickets will be distributed by Hong Kong Express, Cathay Pacific, and Hong Kong Airlines by March 1. Over the course of six months, each airline will be using their overseas platforms to gradually distribute the free tickets, starting with Southeast Asian countries, followed by mainland China and Northeastern Asia. Later this summer, an additional 80,000 free airline tickets will be distributed to Hong Kong residents with another 80,000 for those living in the Greater Bay Area.
Where's the Greater Bay Area? Do Gweilos get free tickets too?

Re: Free Flights to Hong Kong
The Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area also referred to as the Greater Bay Area, is a megalopolis, consisting of nine cities and two special administrative regions in South China. It is envisioned as an integrated economic area aimed at taking a leading role globally by 2035. No worries, I'm probably too old to get my jollies on the Lockhart Road anyway. Better I lurk about the Fens like a smelly fart.

Parts of the Temple Street Night Market in Yau Ma Tei are still open to those seeking that type of entertainment. You can look it up when you arrive in Hong Kong on your free flight from Southeast Asia.
