Baht What up with Dat?????

Post by bumper » September 9, 2015, 5:01 pm

This time it worked out nicely for me I got the high rate when my pay came. It dropped today and I bought dollars to pay me health insurance. Really I broke even which much better then I normally do. Got 36.12 after charges from the bank bought at 36.12 today.

Every time I think I have pattern figured out It seems to change

That my friend is a pretty good exchange rate, in fact the highest exchange rate for at least the past 5 years.

Yes it best I've seen in sometime. Between my cola and the baht recovering from the 28 range, that's my house, car and bike payment.

I'm not u sure this link will work saying 36.75 by year end

The link doesn't work for me, anyway total nonsense in OT's opinion.
OT will stick his neck out and say 36.75 by the weekend.

That 2015f Scotiabank forecast seems to be within reach within weeks......or days.

Here's another interesting read buried in the NYT financial pages:

I would think any delay in railroad construction is going to be another shot in the foot for the Baht.
The headline says one thing "Sino-Thai railway faces nine-month delay"

the Transport Minister says another "It cannot be concluded when the construction will begin," he said.

Well the dollar took a hit today, why?

Well the minutes from the last FED meeting indicated the vote not to raise was well supported.

I will be in LOS next month, February and more than likely August.
Should I convert enough sterling next month to cover all my cash requirements for next year or convert on each occasion I visit.
What's your prognosis? Any advice gratefully received

It seems to all depends on what the FED does, no one has real clue about that one.. I would bring what I need for a short period I of time then use the ATM. But, that is just me.

I would bring with me what was required each trip
Not use ATM's
My bank hits me twice for transactions
First a bad exchange rate
Second an expensive overseas transaction fee
And thats not including a local ATM fee
