Sorry GT being a Melbourne boy have to disagree with you even though I am not a fan of the "wees" and "poos" as they are commonly known have to go with them but I do have a lot admiration for Johnny Longmire the boy from the bush who made good may the the best team on the day win fairly.

Yes, I have a lot of time for Longmire and not much for Clarkson. I have a chip on my shoulder about both Clarkson and Malthouse and the fun thing about sport is I can indulge the chips on my shoulders. We don't need to be rational.

I hope inside the next 10 years we see the Bulldogs playing on the big day.

MCG gates opening in about 75 minutes.

I was just in the supermarket and I bought some VBs given it's Melbourne's and Australia's big day today. I have already opened one of them - I'm 2 hours ahead of Melbourne time.

I doubt the Bondi millionaires will be celebrating with VBs later today. They'll be into yuppie drinks. Anyone know what Fev is doing today? I hope he isn't in a blimin casino.

The footy here starts at 11-30am. In New Zealand 4-30pm. Be careful with them V.B.cans GT or you will be pissed and miss the G.F.of the Greatest Football Game ever played. For those who live here in Udon, the Game will be televised on Home Cable, on the Australian Channel starting at 11-00am.

Yes, I'm already on my third downunder. I'm soon going to go into the city for some Thai takeaway and then I will head to a bar in the city that screens the game. It's usually full of the local Auckland University Aussie Rules team members. Quite a few of them are Aussies studying in NZ. That's not the Auckland Aussie Rules team that I support. My local team is the Northcote Tigers. There are 6 teams in Auckland.

The sound at the bar is usually crap so I write down some of the players' numbers before I go so I can glance at who is who. The Thai Mrs who usually lives in Udon is here at present so I have to manage her too. I told her the game goes on for ages. I'll have to keep feeding her some $s so she can wander around the city and pop back into the bar to see me occasionally. It might be an expensive afternoon. The Swans better win.

I gave up watching in the third quarter. Some Hawk supporters were giving the full yahoo before half time knowing it was theirs. Sydney are a class team but the Hawks are amazing as is that ***** Clarkson.

Please do not drown in your sorrows GT & Wazza as much as my dislike for the Hawks it was a good win for the State any team beaten in a grand final by 63 points have had the a/se thrashed off them and any one game enough to get close to Geoff the gob will get sprayed!!!!!

I don't enjoy the thought of Jeff yahooing big time this evening. I should try to find some solace in Abbott not enjoying this result. I think it's great for the expansion of the game into NSW that Sydney is so strong and that Buddy is up there.

Top 4 side playing a bottom 4 side.

Hawks deserved to win this one.

Hawthorn's second quarter was perfect football - played against a team that have taken all before them for most of the season. After falling in against Port Adelaide last week today Hawthorn were awesome. Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Burgoyne and Roughead were brilliant. I can't ever remember seeing a better display than what the Hawks put on today. Better than Geelong 2007, Essendon 2000 and Hawthorn 1988.
I tipped the Swannies by between 5 and 6 goals. Only out by 16 or 17 goals.......

Can understand the Booing for Franklin but couldnt work out why for Goodes unless its just tall poppy ?

The Swanetts Supporters had plenty to say before the game, WHY NOT NOW?. The only Swan to have a go was a former Hawk, Lance Franklin, what a Champion? SIMPLY COULD NOT HANDLE THE AGRESSION.
