Women’s T20 World Cup.
The tournament in Aussie is about to commence.
I have a new 2nd best team to follow. I did not know Thailand have a women’s team. Let alone qualified for this prestigious tournament.
They have started with a warm up game and a reasonable showing batting through their 20 overs against NZ.
Aussies to win playing Thailand in the final.

Shows how much we know Barney!
Your mob need to beat NZ now which will be interesting....... it's all open for England to win the tournament

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.
Has anyone ever watched any women's T20 cricket.
I never have but will make a point of watching the Thai v West Indies game tomorrow at 2pm local time.
To be honest I have never watched any women's cricket.

Was surprised but not shocked. India and Australia have just finished a very very close T20 series in Australia prior to this opening game.
Hopefully plenty of surprises to come.
Is difficult to show interest in a predictable tournament.
As to those who have not watched it I was not interested or impressed with the girls game but have come to appreciate that there are quite a few skilled female players across all the favourite teams.

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.
I've watched a lot over the past 5/10 years or so and, in that period the standard has improved immensely. The Indian bowlers yesterday looked like pie chuckers in their action but, the skills were there - Yadav is a truly classy bowler.
Having said that, the entertainment value for me is still the unpredictability as howlers do happen regularly which dont happen in the mens game - easy missed catches, botched fielding attempts, missed stumpings etc. Yesterday, at the death, one of the Indians bowled a ball which bounced twice which you dont see often. It could have cost them the game as it was a no ball and a free hit.
Frankly, I still expect the winner to come from Australias group be it India, NZ or, God forbid Oz!

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.
The Aussie girls almost through it away yesterday against Sri Lanka falling over the line in the last over.
My 2nd best team will take on the Pom girls tomorrow both losing their opening games and now trying to achieve their first win.
As mentioned by Samster the unpredictability of all teams, meaning simple mistakes, opens up the tournament.
Crystal ball says Thailand to give England a scare.

Nah. We'll beat Thailand easily and qualify in 2nd place meaning we avoid Oz in the semis. Still fancy the Sheilas to win in spite of their 2 crappy performances so far

Looks like the best 2 teams in the tournament could be going out. What a farce!

The weather is not going to be good. The low Pressure rain system is moving down the east coast.
I’m from Sydney and history says it may peter out and clear up but unlikely, the oval will be waterlogged.
Will be a shame for weather to prevent a real result to a World Cup tournament.

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.
Well the weather in Sydney affected the semi finals.
Feel for the English girls. They were not able to have a crack at the Indians with not a ball bowled, they will be gutted.
The Aussies however had a different game ending in a 13 over shootout with South Africa. A close finish with the Aussies winning.
Final is on Sunday at the MCG. Weather should be ok for Australia to defend the title.
