Where can I buy less expensive peanut butter in Udon?
I love peanut butter, and I've only seen the Jif and Skippy imported brands in the major department stores. Today I saw that the 18 oz size was up from 128 Baht to 145 Baht. That's US$4.80 for a jar of peanut butter that will last less than a week at my house...and that's spreading it paper thin. I can buy a generic brand in that size back home for 45 Baht most anywhere. Does anyone out there know of a better deal in Udon on this precious commodity?

I don't indulge myself, but if I did, I'd probably make my own. Peanuts here are cheap and being retired has its benefits. You can buy bags of shelled peanuts at most markets.

Nee Soon sell the branded stuff as well. From experience it will be cheaper there than any of the other supermarkets, but probably only by a few baht...

They've also got the best prices on "ordinary" but good cheeses, olives, canned soups, come to think of it, they beat the major outlets (Big C, Tesco, etc.) hands down when comparing lots of prepared foods. And these price differences are substantial.
