We forget that like Hospitals Thais are looking to make a buck or two and if a gullible driver/owner can be persuaded to part with money then a bonus is they can sell your tyres to others , second hand price.
How can they do that if you take the old ones with you, as we always do? We can, and have, sold on the used tyres, with and without any usable tread left.

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

Tires that are not safe anymore for cars can be used without any problems on say Kubota trailers.
No scam whatsoever.
No need to think or speak bad about others when you do not know for sure.

Had a chat with a member who recently got a sweet deal on Yokohama's from UD Max at the Global ring road intersection. Note they've shuttered their other branch south of the army hospital at those ring road traffic lights.

You might want to check out Hankook rubber, good prices and user opinions. Another brand that's getting a good name here is Giti. Both are cheaper than the 'premium' brands but not bargain-basement low like Maxxis or Deestone. There's a Giti tire shop at the ring-road T-junction lights just south of you on the NBLP road.
