Re: cheapest return flight from bangkok to london?
I think it very much depends when you are going, when you are returning & how far ahead you are booking Fred.
To be honest I usually look on the web at the usual suspects to get some sort of idea of cost & then (as Lee suggests) go into one of the local travel agents.
Last time I went/came was September (I only stayed 3 weeks). I used @here then & ended up getting an EVA return. They were (that day ) the cheapest direct return' although there was only a couple of 1,000 baht between them & Thai. Other times I have booked Thai have been outrageously priced, but not that time.
A friend of mine went a couple of months before me & went Jet (India) with a stop over in Mumbai. He said it was OK, but, at that time was VERY, VERY cheap. When I checked them, before I went, they were actually more expensive than Eva.
The flights that stop in the Middle East can also be cheapest, but can also be very inconvenient about the half way delay & also the starting & arriving time in BKK/London.
I think best suggestion is a quick explore at EVA/Thai/Jet/Emirates etc. then a quick trip to the Travel Agent to see what they can do - if you see a very special price on line & take a copy of it to @here they will match it!!!

Always use www.skyscanner.net good site with best prices, (searches all other sites) only direct flights are Eva, Thai, BA and Quantas. flew with BA in Sept £600 rtn, if you don't mind a short stopover Jet or air india are Ok looking at about 1-2 hour in Mumbai or Delhi, these may be the cheapest but not the best, Air India in Dec £525 rtn but lost my bag coming to BKK and on return to London.
Re: cheapest return flight from bangkok to london?
Hi people, fred williams i fly between bkk and Manchester every 4weeks and i use the same airline every time.I only book through there own website and for doing it this way they give me a bonus of 2500 airmiles, sometimes they are a little more expensive than other airlines but there flights suit me as they arrive early morning to bkk so i can get my flight back home to Udon,i am now a gold card holder and every 3.5 flights that i do gets me a free flight(only pay taxes about £195)with a fully flexible ticket valid for 1 year. The company i use is Etihad, new planes and good service, they stop over in abu dhabi just long enough for a few ciggies and to whet your whistle, only small airport so not too much walking, the best time to check there website is Tuesdays and Wednesdays as these are the days they have special offers and the further ahead you can book the cheaper your flight will be,just visit www.etihadairways.com,hope it works for you, chok dee, johnty.

I'm a big fan of Stansted, too. "London's" cleanest and quietest airport!

Re: cheapest return flight from bangkok to london?
I see all these cheap offers but they never seem available when I want to go.
Air Asia is indeed cheap but when I tried to book for September I was told that you cannot book from Bangkok. You have to purchase 2 tickets. First to Kuala Lulpur. then on to Stanstead. Not only that you have to go through immigration., etc at Kuala Lumpur and check in again for the Stanstead flight.
I then tried Qatar for September cheapest return flight from Bangkok 42000 baht. Am I missing something

Re: cheapest return flight from bangkok to london?
..And if getting the EVA Air flight (about 13.10) from Bangkok, would you trust Air Asia to get you from Udon to BKK that same morning, without delay or cancellation?
Thai don't have an earlier flight any more, and Nok besides flying to Don Muang, depart very early at 07.35am! :-&

Hi,
Lee. Checked with Ar Asia, From K.L. in Sept. ( mid Sept) the cheapest was 26,000B with you having to paid the extra return fare BKK to K.L.
Glee Qatar for Sept quoted me, and I was very flexible with my dates, 39,000B for mid Sept.
These quotes were made today 10/07/10
Cheers Doug.
Am I doing something wrong. Help.

Re: cheapest return flight from bangkok to london?
Maybe there are too many people checking for similar dates. Singapore seem to have gone up from 42K to 48K (for that period). EVA are 45K. Malaysian 45K.
