I'm not sure of Bangkok Air's schedule.....but they're advertising an increase in flights Bangkok-Udon to three per day effective 1 Feb.

And on that note, the last 3 or 4 times I've been to the airport, I've had to park in the back 40........parking lot chock full of cars and lots of people in the airport. No indications of a slowdown taking place in Udon!

Yes, they added an afternoon flight. As said in the other thread BA really rocks. Everything is superior to Nok and Air Asia with them, some things even better than with Thai Airways. Seat space, food, service, ease of booking online, 20 kg standard - they do everything correct to attract costumers. I used them several times meanwhile between BKK and UTH and was never disappointed.

I picked up a mate at UT airport a few days ago. He had booked a return flight on Thai Smile, but they have cancelled their morning flight for the time being.

He walked over to the Bangkok Air office, and booked a flight for TBH1440 - 1000 less than the Thai Smile.

Oh! - and they Bangkok Air) were offering 2 tickets for the price of 1. \:D/ :D

Yes, that is the current promotion valid until 31 March. Very useful for us flying with the kids - 2 fly for free, lots of money saved. And now we're moving to school holiday time, so double useful!

IIRC the startup special was 990.

Just flew RT to BKK with them this past weekend, 1,390 each way. Leaving UTH, the flight on Wednesday was cancelled. They called me several times to tell me, and gave me a choice of Thai Smile flights to take instead. No additional charge. Last night on the return from BKK, the flight left 15 minutes late. Again, several calls during the day to tell me (it was a scheduled 6:45 p.m. departure). On board service was great. They actually serve a full "meal," -- far better than the snack bag on other carriers, though hardly a CX F meal, obviously, given the length of the flight.

All in all, I thought that it was great. And I'm happy for any additional options to BKK, -- I really don't like flying in and out of DMK, find it very inconvenient.

"Just flew RT with them this past weekend...."

I thought that it was obvious that "them" refers to the topic of this thread, Bangkok Air. It would have been a non-sequitur to use "them" to refer to anyone else. In this context, RT refers to "roundtrip." I apologize if I was not clear.

To give you a substantive, non-snarky answer to your question, though, RT is the code for RAK Airways. RAK Airways is a [by reports, sporadically] scheduled airline headquartered at RKT, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, and flying within the UAE. Its fleet reportedly consists of a 319-100, three 320-200s, a 734, two 738s, three 752s and an ERJ-190.

I was flying Bangkok Air from Udon to Bangkok yesterday. Price 1440 baht incl tax. At check-in they asked if I wanted to sit at the emergency exit. Said yes and got a lot of room for my legs. :D Got a "whole" meal on the flight. Food ok, not more than that.
Going back to Udon tomorrow with Thai Air. Price 1750 incl tax.

Things that will decide who I fly with is flight times and price. I prefer Suvarnabhumi due to the use of airport link instead of a taxi. Since Thair Air have cancelled their morning flight Bangkok Air will possibly be my airline to Bangkok in the future, and a mix between them and Thair Air on the return.

What i find frustrating with Bangkok Air and Thai is that their take-off and landing times are very similar. :?
